Lord Vishnu

śrī anaṃtācī āratī (jaya śrīanaṃtā lakṣmīkāṃtā)

(Ananta Aarti in English (IAST))

Also known as jaya srianamta laksmikamta arati ovalu

A Marathi arati for the Ananta Chaturdashi vow, its refrain calling on Ananta the lord of Lakshmi as the lamps are turned before him. The verses keep to the observance rather than to the god's exploits. The fourteenth day of the bright fortnight of Bhadrapada is named as the day on which the vow is kept, and the arati says that Ananta comes running when trouble falls on those devoted to him. What the vow brings is stated plainly and domestically: pleased, Ananta gives children and wealth. It belongs with the household Marathi aratis rather than with the Sanskrit stotras beside it — short lines, a returning refrain, and the practical shape of a rite that families keep once in the year.
