(Surya Dwadash Namavali (Twelve Names of Surya) in Telugu)
Also known as surya dwadash namavali · 12 names of surya · surya 12 naam
The twelve names of the Sun, each given with its salutation: Mitra, Ravi, Sūrya, Bhānu, Khaga, Pūṣan, Hiraṇyagarbha, Marīci, Āditya, Savitṛ, Arka, Bhāskara. This is the shortest of his name-lists and by far the most used, being the sequence spoken through the twelve postures of the Sūrya Namaskāra, one name to each, and it answers as well to the twelve Ādityas and to the twelve months of the year. Taken in order the names do not repeat a single idea but move through his offices: the friend, the one who moves, the impeller of thought, the bird crossing the sky, the nourisher, the golden womb from which the worlds come, the ray, the son of Aditi, the maker of light. Each stands in the dative with namaḥ, the form in which they are offered with water at sunrise.
