Navadurga Stotram

Goddess Shailaputri: I bow to the illustrious Goddess Shailaputri, who is adorned with a half-moon on Her head, who rides a bull, holds a trident, and grants all desired boons.

Goddess Brahmacharini: May the supreme Goddess Brahmacharini, who holds a rosary (Akshamala) and a water pot (Kamandalu) in Her lotus-like hands, be pleased with me.

Goddess Chandraghanta: May the renowned Goddess Chandraghanta, who is mounted on the supreme vehicle and equipped with fierce weapons in Her anger, bestow Her grace upon me.

Goddess Kushmanda: May Goddess Kushmanda, who holds in Her lotus hands two pitchers full of wine and blood, bring me auspiciousness.

Goddess Skandamata: May the illustrious Goddess Skandamata, who is always seated on a lion-throne and holds lotuses in Her two hands, always bestow auspiciousness.

Goddess Katyayani: May Goddess Katyayani, who wields the gleaming Chandrahasa sword, rides the best of tigers, and destroys demons, grant auspiciousness.

Goddess Kalaratri: She who has a single braid, wears a Japa (hibiscus) flower in Her ears, is unclothed, and rides a donkey; who has long lips, ears adorned with ornaments, and a body smeared with oil...

...whose left leg is adorned with shiny iron-like thorny anklets, whose hair stands upright like a flag, who is dark-complexioned—may the terrifying Kalaratri protect us.

Goddess Mahagauri: May the pure Goddess Mahagauri, who rides a white bull, wears white garments, and brings delight to Lord Mahadeva, grant auspiciousness.

Goddess Siddhidatri: May Goddess Siddhidatri, who is constantly served by Siddhas, Gandharvas, Yakshas, demons, and gods, always bestow perfection (Siddhis).
