Goddess Lalita

śrī mahātripurasundarī ṣaṭkam

(Maha Tripura Sundari Shatkam in English (IAST))

Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Nrisimha Bharati

Also known as tripura sundari · tripura sundari mantra · tripur sundari

Six verses by Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Nrisimha Bharati, Jagadguru of Sringeri, each ending on the same line: I contemplate Mahatripurasundari in my mind, continually. Four of the six begin on the syllable vi, which gives the set its shape. She gives wondrous poetry to those who bow, and gives it without delay; she is saluted by Vidhi, Indra and Hari, and worshipped by those who keep to what is enjoined and what is forbidden; Vinayaka and the fire-born stand shining at her two sides. In the last verses the women of the sky-chariots serve her feet, she holds bow and noose and goad, and she has made her seat in the lotus of the throat.
