Goddess Bala Tripurasundari

śrībālānīrājanam (jaya bāle tripure)

(Shri Bala Nirajanam (Sanskrit Aarti) in English (IAST))

Also known as shri bala nirajanam · bala nirajanam sanskrit aarti · jaya bale tripure

An aarti in Sanskrit rather than a spoken language, sung with the lamp circling before Bala Tripurasundari, and every line of it rhymes on the same long vowel so that a room can carry it. Victory to Bala, to Tripura — you whose body is held in two, in the shape of Shiva and Shakti. Shining like the ray of dawn, wearing a pearl at the nose, dwelling in the bud of the lotus; the moon bright on your brow, a rosary of beads in your hand, and in another the net of a book, you protect the devotee. The eighth verse names the three seeds of her mantra in order — Vagbhava at the beginning, Klim in the middle, the seed of power at the end — and says she plays in the heart beyond all seeds. The last line asks the one thing an aarti asks: Bala, be my refuge.
