Lord Kalabhairava

ଶ୍ରୀଭୈରଵସର୍ଵଫଲପ୍ରଦସ୍ତୋତ୍ରମ୍

(Shri Bhairava Sarvaphalaprada Stotram in Odia)

Also known as sri bhairava sarvaphalaprada stotram · shree bhairava sarvaphalaprada stotram · bhairava sarvaphalaprada stotram

Not a hymn in verse but a short sequence of mantras, each ending in svāhā, which is what the offering formula requires. It opens with the seed bhraṁ and asks Bhairava to avert what is unwanted, then turns to the planets and asks the same of all of them together. What follows is a list of requests set down without ornament: give knowledge, give wealth, take away my poverty and my sorrow, give a son. The plainness is the character of the text rather than a defect in it — a mantramaya stotra is meant to be used at a fire or a lamp with each line as a distinct offering, so it is built for utterance rather than for reading. Its title claims that it gives every fruit, and the sequence of asks is arranged to cover them in order.
