Goddess Lakshmi

śrī mahālakṣmī caturviṃśatināmastotram

(Sri Mahalakshmi Chaturvimsati Nama Stotram in English (IAST))

From Varaha Purana

Also known as mahalakshmi 24 names · chaturvimsati nama stotram lakshmi · varaha purana lakshmi stotram

Twenty-four names of Mahalakshmi, spoken by the gods, from the Venkatachala Mahatmya in the Varaha Purana — which is why a hymn of this shortness carries the weight it does: it belongs to the account of the hill at Tirumala. Salutation to Shri, holder of the worlds, mother of brahman, salutation upon salutation; salutation to you, lotus-eyed, chief among lotuses, salutation upon salutation. The second verse continues in the same measure and adds the detail that anchors her to a place: to her whose lotus face is gracious, to the light of the lotus, salutation; salutation to her who dwells in the bilva grove, to the wife of Vishnu. Twenty-four names is a short recitation by the standards of this collection, and the form is meant for daily use rather than for a long worship.
