Goddess Saraswati

śrī śāradā pañcaratna stutiḥ

(Sri Sharada Pancharatna Stuti in English (IAST))

Also known as shri sharada pancharatna stuti · shree sharada pancharatna stuti · sharada pancharatna stuti

Five verses to Śāradā of Śṛṅgeri, and unlike the other Pañcaratna here this one is fixed to a place from its first line: on the seat established by the lord of teachers Śaṅkara, on the bank of the Tuṅgā, in the town called Śṛṅgeri, spotless and served by true sages — there she shines, bright with the light of ten million suns. The verses following give her the offices of the goddess of learning in that lineage: skilled at destroying the distress of those who bow at her feet, joining herself to the primal sound, her greatness set out by Vedānta, giver of the power of debate, the wishing-vine of knowledge, and the sun to the lotus that is Brahmā's face. The last verse closes with a renunciation rather than a request, saying that having abandoned all other gods, the speaker is content with her whose heart is satisfied by a bow alone.
