Goddess Lalita

śrīṣoḍaśī tripurasundarī dhyānam

(Sri Shodashi Tripurasundari Dhyanam in English (IAST))

Also known as shri shodashi tripurasundari dhyanam · shree shodashi tripurasundari dhyanam · shodashi tripurasundari dhyanam

Three meditation verses and nothing else — no viniyoga, no litany, no promise of fruit — which is what a dhyanam is for. The first is the short and familiar one: shining like the disc of the young sun, four-armed, three-eyed, holding noose, goad, arrows and bow. The last is longer and fills in what the short one leaves out — the splendour of ten thousand young suns, red garments, a body bright with every kind of ornament, the crescent worn as a crest, and again the sugarcane bow, the goad, the flower-arrow and the noose held always in her hands. It ends by placing her where the Shrividya places her, seated in the Shrichakra and the support of the three worlds.
