तारा ध्यानम् - प्रत्यालीढपदां घोरां मुण्डमालाविभूषिताम्
(Tara Dhyanam (Pratyalidha-padam Ghoram))
Also known as pratyalidhapadam ghoram · pratyalidhapadam ghoram mundamalavibhusitam kharvvam lambodarim bhimam
The meditation verses on Ugra Tara standing alone, without the armour or the hymn they usually preface — the same lines that open the Tara Pratyangira Kavacham in this corpus, given here on their own. She is in the pratyalidha stance, terrible, decked with a garland of severed heads, short and heavy-bellied, a tiger-skin at the waist; in the fullness of new youth and marked with the five mudras; four-armed, her tongue lolling, hugely terrible and giving boons. The hands are counted in pairs, sword and chopping-knife on one side, skull-bowl and blue lotus on the other. Her single matted braid is tawny at the tip and Akshobhya is set in the crown of it. The last verse moves her from the burning ground to a white lotus standing in the water that pervades the world.
Script: Devanagari (देवनागरी) — also the script of Hindi, Marathi, Nepali and Konkani.
