Goddess Devi

அஹல்யா த்ரௌபதீ ஸீதா தாரா

(Ahalya Draupadi Sita Tara in Tamil)

Also known as ahalya draupadi sita tara mamdodari tatha

Goddess Devi Parvati is a principal goddess in Hinduism, representing power, fertility, and devotion. She is the consort of Lord Shiva and is revered as the mother of the universe, embodying nurturing and strength. This shloka invokes the memory of five virtuous women from Hindu epics: Ahalya, Draupadi, Sita, Tara, and Mandodari. These women are collectively referred to as the Panchakanya and are remembered for their purity, strength, and significant roles in their respective narratives. The verse suggests that by remembering these five women daily, one can be absolved of great sins.
