Goddess Radha

ānaṃda caṃdrikā stotram

(Ananda Chandrika Stotram in English (IAST))

Sri Rupa Goswami

Also known as ananda chandrika stotra · radha damodaraprestha radhika varsabhanavi samastaballavivrndadhammillottamsamallika

Ten names of Rādhā by Rūpa Gosvāmī, which the poem calls a secret praise and titles the moonlight of bliss. The names are chosen to place her by relation rather than by attribute: dearest to Dāmodara, daughter of Vṛṣabhānu, the jasmine at the crest of the braided hair of all the cowherd women, first in the line of Kṛṣṇa's beloveds, Gāndharvā, the friend of Lalitā, made happy by Viśākhā's friendship, and the blossom-cluster on which the bee that is Hari's heart settles. Naming her through her companions rather than through her own qualities is the Gauḍīya method, since her sakhīs are held to be the medium through which she is approached at all. What is promised is correspondingly indirect — the reciter becomes free of affliction and quickly an object of the compassion of Rādhā and Mādhava together.
