ବୃହଦ୍ଧର୍ମପୁରାଣ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ର ଅଷ୍ଟୋତ୍ତରଶତନାମ ସ୍ତୋତ୍ର

The hundred and eight names of the moon as the Bṛhaddharma Purāṇa gives them, and the list keeps to what the moon does rather than to mythology. He is full of nectar, white, spotless in form, of the broad disc, whose rays are ambrosia; the king of the twice-born, the hare-bearer, the house on Śiva's head; son of the ocean of milk, raining nectar, lord of the night and remover of darkness, the eye of the world; the one who gladdens the eye, husband of the stars, undiminished; of sixteen digits, lord of the digits, and desire itself. One pair of names sets his whole nature out plainly — waning and waxing — and the closing verses attach him to the rite for the ancestors, saying the offering becomes endless by the favour of the lord of the digits. Its last line specifies who may recite it and who is to listen.
