ಗೌರೀ ದಶಕಂ

I praise Mother Gauri, the lotus-eyed Goddess, who through Her divine play creates, sustains, and dissolves all worlds. She is sought eternally within the hearts of yogis who transcend the worldly realm, and She shines with the brilliance of a multitude of rising suns.

I praise Mother Gauri, the lotus-eyed Goddess, who is the embodiment of Truth, Consciousness, and Bliss. She reveals the ultimate state of liberation within the hearts of those established in the practices of withdrawal, meditation, and absorption.

I praise Mother Gauri, the lotus-eyed Goddess, whose face is adorned with a gentle smile that delights the Lord of the Moon (Shiva), whose dark tresses are decorated with the crescent moon, and whose lotus-like feet are worshipped by Indra, Vishnu, and other celestial beings.

I praise Mother Gauri, the lotus-eyed Goddess, who shines in the form of all letters from 'A' to 'Ksha'. She is the source of all living beings in every corner of existence, the essence of the bliss of sacred sound (Shabda Brahman), and resplendent like a flash of lightning.

I praise Mother Gauri, the lotus-eyed Goddess, who is the blissful one, existing in a form subtler than the subtlest. She rises from the Muladhara chakra through the central channel, illuminating the solar and lunar paths, and pervading the opening of the crown of the head.

I praise Mother Gauri, the lotus-eyed Goddess, the consort of Shiva, who delights in the play of protecting the universe. She is the witness to the creation and dissolution of the cosmos, whose own witness is the eternal, pure, partless, and unique Lord of the Universe.

I praise Mother Gauri, the lotus-eyed Goddess, who resides with Her Lord on the Silver Mountain (Kailasa). Within Her womb, the entire unbroken universe dissolves and manifests again and again.

I praise Mother Gauri, the lotus-eyed Goddess, who is attainable through the path of spiritual wisdom. Just as beads are woven onto a thread, all moving and unmoving things in the universe are woven and held together within Her.

I praise Mother Gauri, the lotus-eyed Goddess, the auspicious one and the wish-fulfilling creeper for those who bow to Her. Though She is one, She sports freely by pervading all the worlds through Her infinite and diverse manifestations of power.

I praise Mother Gauri, the lotus-eyed Goddess, the beautiful one who occupies half the body of the Lord (Shiva). For those men devoted to meditating on Her lotus feet, She bestows the destruction of all suffering and the bonds of worldly desire.

He who, with a purified heart and deep devotion, recites this Gauri Dashakam every morning with concentration, will surely be granted by the Daughter of the Mountain the perfection of speech, supreme prosperity, and unwavering devotion to Lord Shiva.
