She is the primal power and the unseen and the stainless; she is Brahma's own form; she is the wish-cow and being and consciousness and bliss, and then Ganga and the Gita in one line; she is the everlasting power of Savitr, and Savitri, and Sita. She is the beloved of the Rig and the Yajus and the Saman and the Atharva. She is the coiled power, the thousand-petalled lotus, the central channel. She is Svaha and Svadha and Shachi and Brahmani and Radha and Rudrani. Then the register drops and stays down: we are your children though crooked and false and unworthy, and what is asked for at the end is not wealth but a clean mind.
