Brahman (The Absolute Reality)

kaṭhopaniṣad - adhyāya 2, vallī 3

(Kathopanishad - Chapter 2, Valli 3 in English (IAST))

From Katha Upanishad (Yajurveda)

This text is the third section of the second chapter of the Katha Upanishad, part of the Krishna Yajurveda. It features the dialogue between young Nachiketa and Yama, the Lord of Death, regarding the nature of the Self. The verses vividly describe the cosmic Ashvattha tree, representing the manifest universe rooted in the eternal Brahman. By contemplating these profound metaphysical truths, the seeker gains clarity on the nature of immortality, the structure of existence, and the ultimate liberation from the cycle of birth and death, leading to supreme peace and transcendental wisdom.
