ମୁଣ୍ଡକ ଉପନିଷଦ୍ - ଦ୍ଵିତୀଯ ମୁଣ୍ଡକ, ଦ୍ଵିତୀଯ କାଣ୍ଡଃ

It manifests, dwelling in the secret cave of the heart; it is the great goal in which all exists as a unified whole. Know that which moves, breathes, and blinks; it is that which is both being and non-being, the most adorable, the supreme, beyond the reach of human understanding, the greatest among all beings.

That which is radiant, which is subtler than the subtle, and that in which the worlds and their inhabitants are established—that is the imperishable Brahman. It is life, it is speech, and it is the mind. It is the truth and the immortal. That, O beloved seeker, is the target; strike it.

Taking as a bow the great weapon of the Upanishad, place upon it the arrow sharpened by constant meditation. Drawing the string with a mind absorbed in the Divine, O beloved, aim and strike that very Imperishable as the target.

Om is the bow, the individual self is the arrow, and Brahman is the target. It should be struck by one who is undistracted; one should become one with the target, just as an arrow becomes one with its mark.

In Him, heaven, earth, and the atmosphere are woven, along with the mind and all the life-forces. Know Him alone as the one Self; abandon all other talk. He is the bridge to immortality.

Where the subtle energy channels (nadis) are gathered together like the spokes in the hub of a chariot wheel, there He moves within, manifesting in various forms. Meditate on the Self as Om. May you be well and cross over to the other shore, beyond the darkness.

He who is all-knowing and all-wise, whose glory is manifested in this world, resides within the divine city of Brahman, the space of the heart. He is composed of mind, the leader of the life-force and the body, established in the food (the body), having settled in the heart. The wise perceive Him through direct knowledge as the form of bliss that shines as the Immortal.

When that Self, which is both the high and the low, is realized, the knots of the heart are untied, all doubts are dispelled, and all karmas are exhausted.

In the supreme, golden sheath resides the Brahman, stainless and indivisible. It is pure, the light of lights; that is what the knowers of the Self realize.

The sun does not shine there, nor the moon and the stars, nor do these lightnings shine, let alone this earthly fire. Everything shines only after that shining One; by His light, all this is illuminated.

Verily, all this that is before us is Brahman, the immortal. Brahman is behind, Brahman is to the right and to the left, Brahman is below and above. Indeed, this entire universe is nothing but Brahman, the supreme.
