niropa āratī (jāhaleṃ bhajana)

(Nirop Aarti Marathi in English (IAST))

Also known as marathi aarti · aarti marathi · aarti in marathi

The leave-taking arati, sung last when the bhajan has ended and the company is about to disperse, and its first line says exactly that: the singing is done, we bow at your feet. Seven short couplets follow and not one of them praises. They are requests, and domestic ones. Turn the obstacles aside and guard the helpless; we are your servants and think of no one else; carry what we have begun through to its end; look once with grace and take us all across; let this love stay in our minds; keep the worry of us; guard everyone's honour. Then the two lines the arati is named for: we take our leave now, give us your permission to go, and forgive whatever we have got wrong. A Varkari closing prayer that ends the worship by asking pardon for it.
