ଶ୍ରୀ ପରମେଶ୍ଵର ଅଷ୍ଟକମ୍ (ପାର୍ଵତୀ କୃତ)

Eight verses given by their colophon to Parvati — the daughter of the mountain king praising her own husband, which the last verse states outright — and written in a long trochaic metre that keeps four heavy vocatives to a line. Lotus-seated, lotus-eyed, true teacher, unequalled, purifier, wishing tree resorted to by the glorious: protect me, supreme lord. Giver of the wished-for thing, lotus-footed, death of death, teacher of the world; lord of the temple where the jasmine grows, grant me what I long for. The second verse works the same way through the moon at his crest, the mountain bent into a bow, and the cool-rayed one made into an eye. The closing verse promises the hard-won supreme state to whoever reads it with a devoted mind in the presence of the lord.
