(Shri Vrajnandan Ki Aarti in Assamese)
Also known as sri vrajnandan ki aarti · shree vrajnandan ki aarti · vrajnandan ki aarti
The women of Vraja perform this one, and it is made almost entirely of sound and substance rather than of the god. First what is burnt and offered — agar, camphor, fragrant powder, and the sanjhi decorations arranged in their many kinds. Then the instruments, named one after another until the room is full: bell, jhalar, conch and the nrisingha horn, the victory-bell whose note is happiness itself, and then flute, vina, mridanga, tambura, and a shehnai sounding apart from all the rest. Then what happens overhead, the gods raining flowers from the sky and the wives of the gods dancing and clapping. Only at the close does a person appear, when the delighted companions wave the offering and the poet Narayan says he would be sacrificed for it.
