சந்த்ராஷ்டாவிம்ஶதிநாமாவலிஃ
(Candrastavimsatinamavalih in Tamil)
Also known as sri chandra ashtavimsati namavali · candrastavimsatinamavali · om kumudapriyaya namah
The same twenty-eight names that the verse text gives, set out singly as a litany, each in the dative between Oṁ and namaḥ, for telling on a mālā or offering with flowers. The order is unchanged and can be followed against the stotra name for name: Sudhākara, Soma, Glau, Abja, lover of the night-lotus, beloved of the world, of bright rays, Candramas; then Śaśin, the frost-maker, the king, the king of the twice-born, the maker of night, Ātreya, Indu, the cool-rayed, lord of the herbs, treasury of the digits. The last stretch is the one that places him rather than describes him — giver of long life, brother of Ramā, born of the ocean of milk, chief of the constellations, the one on Śambhu's head, and the crest-jewel. Twenty-eight is chosen for the lunar mansions, so the list is a month told one name at a time.
