Goddess Kumari

श्री कुमारी स्तोत्रम्

(Sri Kumari Stotram)

Also known as shri kumari stotram · shree kumari stotram · kumari stotram

A short worship-hymn to Kumari in which every verse ends on the same verb — I worship — so the piece is spoken while the offering is being made rather than read. Its method is the triad. She is Tripura, the support of the three strands, the form of the knowledge of the three ends of life, saluted by the three worlds, the three-formed. Then she is made of the arts and beyond the arts, the mother of welfare; then the holder of the powers beginning with atomicity, whose self is the letters beginning with a; then Kalika, who ranges at will, whose form is the wheel of time. The names are gathered from everywhere — Lakshmi and Rohini in one verse, Kalika in the next — because what is being worshipped is a girl in whom all of them are taken to be present at once.
