Goddess Devi

श्री मनसा देवी द्वादशनाम स्तोत्रम्

(Sri Manasa Devi Dwadasa Nama Stotram)

From Brahmavaivarta Purana

Also known as shri manasa devi dwadasa nama stotram · shree manasa devi dwadasa nama stotram · manasa devi dwadasa nama stotram

Twelve names of Manasa from the forty-fifth chapter of the Prakriti Khanda of the Brahmavaivarta Purana, and the twelve are enough to give her whole position at once. She is Jaratkaru, which is her husband's name borne as her own; Jagadgauri, the fair one of the world; Manasa, the one born of the mind; the accomplished yogini; Vaishnavi; the sister of the serpents; Shaivi; and the mistress of the serpents. Both sides of her are in that list — the snake-goddess of the folk and the ascetic wife of a Vedic sage — and the hymn holds them together without comment, which is what the Purana does with her too.
