শ্ৰী ৰাঘৱ স্তোত্ৰম্

Seventeen verses, each built on a single consonant and each closing on the same words. The first runs on the vowel i and its long form — dark as the sapphire mountain, bright with eyes like blue lotuses, served by Indra and the gods, I praise the delight of the Raghus — and the second turns to p: protector of the whole host of the gods, lotus-wombed, everlasting, broad of chest. The device is carried through without a break, so that reading the hymn in order is also going through the alphabet. Its closing verse makes no large claim at all: whoever reads this with devotion is freed from the bond of the round of birth and goes to the highest station.
