Sant Tukaram

śrītukārāmāṃcī āratī (prapaṃñcaracanā)

(Shree Tukaram Aarti (Marathi) in English (IAST))

Also known as tukaram aarti (marathi) · marathi aarti · aarti marathi

A Marathi arati to Tukaram, and what it praises is a life rather than a form. He is called the deliverer of everyone and the dearest kinsman of all, and then the verses say what he did: having enjoyed the whole arrangement of the world he gave it up; in the flame of remorse he lost the sense of being a body; he made the firmness of dispassion visible by living it where others could see; and, driving out the sense of I and mine, he took the peace of his own self to wife. A later line credits him with raising the greatness of devotion to Hari to something exceptional. Twenty-two lines carry it, and not one of them asks him for anything at all.
