ଶ୍ରୀ ପାର୍ଵତୀ ପଞ୍ଚକ ସ୍ତୋତ୍ରମ୍

Five verses to Parvati, each a single long chain of feminine epithets in one metre and one rhyme: daughter of the lord of mountains, joined to the moon-crested one, increaser of the power of the lord of gods, beloved beyond measure, crusher of the lord of the night-walkers, holder of the trident's point, tearer-apart of the mind's distress — let Parvati make it well. The closing verse turns the hymn to a use and names who is to use it: a girl who reads the five daily destroys all her wrongdoing and obtains a fine husband, and it ends by asking that as Gauri is dear to Shankara, so the reader may be to hers.
