നവഗ്രഹ ധ്യാനമ് (തന്ത്രോക്ത നവഗ്രഹ സ്വരൂപ)

Nine meditations on the planets, and the point of the collection is that each one is quoted from a different book, with the source named in its own heading: the Sun's from the Tripurasarvasva, Mars's from the Agamamrtamanjari, Mercury's and Jupiter's from the Bhairava Tantra, Venus's from the Kubjikasarvasva, Saturn's from the Shubhada Agamamrta. It is an anthology rather than a composition. The images it gathers are not the puranic ones: Mercury rides a swan, two-armed, with a sword and a noose; Jupiter is on an elephant holding a spear and a trident; Venus is two-eyed, which is worth noticing in a god usually described as having lost an eye, and sits on a krauncha bird. Every verse places the planet in the lotus of the heart rather than in the sky, which is what makes these meditations rather than descriptions.
