గణేశ మఙ్గలాష్టకమ్

May there be auspiciousness unto Ganesha, the elephant-faced one, the brother of Kartikeya (born of the Ganga), the eternal Self, and the beloved son of Gauri.

May there be auspiciousness unto the Lord who wears the serpent as a sacred thread, who destroys the obstacles of those who bow to Him, who is the leader of the ganas like Nandi, and who is the supreme guide.

May there be auspiciousness unto the Lord with the elephant face, who is worshipped by Indra and other gods, who is the embodiment of pure consciousness, and who is the beloved object of Ishana’s (Shiva’s) affection.

May there be auspiciousness unto the fair-faced One, who holds a pot of nectar tipped from the end of His trunk, who is served by the multitude of gods, and who grants all desires.

May there be auspiciousness unto the four-armed One, whose head is adorned by the crescent moon, and who delivers those who bow at His feet from the infinite cycle of existence.

May there be auspiciousness unto the curved-trunk Lord, the celibate youth, the dweller of the forest, the bestower of boons, and the son of the three-eyed Shiva.

May there be auspiciousness unto the One who is the embodiment of joy and bliss, the form of success and supreme knowledge, the great destroyer of sins, and the bestower of fruits.

May there be auspiciousness to the Lord of the ganas, to the son of Hara (Shiva), to the King of obstacles, and to the destroyer of all difficulties. May this sacred octet of verses, which bestows auspiciousness, be recited with devotion and effort for the removal of all obstacles.
