Lord Ganesha

શ્રી ગણેશ પ્રાતઃ સ્મરણમ્

(Sri Ganesa Pratah Smaranam in Gujarati)

Also known as ganesha pratah smarana stotram · shri ganesa pratah smaranam · shree ganesa pratah smaranam

Three verses for the morning, and unlike the other dawn-triplets in this collection all three belong to the same hour: at dawn I remember, at dawn I bow, at dawn I worship, one verb to a verse. The first has the two cheeks bright with a flood of vermilion, the fierce staff that breaks the tall obstacle to pieces, and the whole company of gods led by Indra bowing to him. The second gives him a sacred thread that is the lord of the two-tongued ones, and calls him the son of the two auspicious ones, clever at play. The third turns to what he undoes — a forest fire to the grief of devotees, and the oblation-bearing flame that burns down the forest of ignorance. Its promise is imperial: three verses read every morning, and they always give sovereignty.
