Lord Ganesha

மரகத ஶ்ரீ லக்ஷ்மீகணபதி மங்கலாஶாஸநம்

(Marakata Sri Laksmiganapati Mangalasasanam in Tamil)

Nateshvara

Also known as marakatha lakshmi ganapati mangalasasanam

The blessing-text of the set, and it asks for nothing at all — each verse simply pronounces auspiciousness upon the lord of the hosts who shines with the emerald Lakshmi. Its method is to go through the worlds in order and report who is worshipping in each. In heaven it is the king of the gods whose worship shapes him; in the world of men it is the worship made by crores of living creatures that delights him; and down in Patala it is the praise of the daityas living there that gladdens him. Then the rule over the whole company of the ganas, and further on Satyanarayana. Its last verse names its own author, the poet Nateshvara, and asks that the praise he has spoken may walk about in the mind.
