Lord Ganesha

श्रीगणेश आरती (जय वक्रतुंडा)

(Marathi Ganesh Aarti (Jai Vakratunda))

Mukteshwar

Also known as ganesh aarti · ganesh ki aarti · ganesh aarti pdf

The other Marathi aarti in this cluster, and where that one begins with the ichor on his cheeks, this one is built out of music. Victory to the curved trunk, it opens, vermilion-marked, with broad straight arms — and then the seven notes are named in order, sa ri ga ma pa dha ni, as distinctions to be sounded; the mridanga is given its syllables, dhimikit dhimikit; and the dance is given its own, tatak tatak thaiyya. Between them a sitar sings sweetly and the small bells go runjhun, while Brahma and the rest stand looking at his lotus feet. The last verse returns to the figure: giving fearlessness and boons, lotus-petal eyes, the axe and the goad and the laddu in the hands, the mouse below. Mukteshwar closes it circling those feet like a bee.
