ରାହୁ କଵଚମ୍

I bow always to Rāhu, shaped like a winnowing basket, wearing a diadem; the son of Siṃhikā, of terrible mouth, who gives fearlessness to the worlds.

Here begins the Armour of Rāhu: May the blue-robed guard my head, and he whom the world reveres my brow; may Rāhu guard my eyes, and he of but half a body my ears.

May the smoke-hued guard my nose, and the trident-bearer my face; may the son of Siṃhikā guard my tongue, and the hard-footed one my throat.

May the lord of serpents guard my arms, and he garlanded and robed in blue my hands; may the counsellor guard my breast, and the afflicter of the moon my belly.

May the fearsome one guard my waist, and he whom the gods worship my thighs; may Svarbhānu guard my knees, and the destroyer of dullness my calves.

May the lord of planets guard my ankles, and he of terrifying form my feet; may he who is adorned with blue sandal guard all my limbs.

The fruit of recitation: Whoever, restrained and pure, recites this armour of Rāhu daily with devotion — the giver of prosperity — obtains by his grace fame beyond compare, wealth and increase, long life, health, and mastery of himself.
