Lord Kubera

kubera āratī

(Kubera Arati in English (IAST))

Also known as shree kuber aarti · om jaya kubera svami prabhu jaya

A Hindi arati to Kubera which is unusually careful with his family. He is called the son of Vishrava and the darling of Idavida, the husband of Kaveri, the father of Nalakubara, and Shiva's own favourite, so the whole household is named in the space of two verses. What is striking is where it puts him: not in Alaka in the Himalaya, where the poetry usually keeps him, but on the bank of the Reva, which is the Narmada, and at Karnali, the shrine there. What is asked for follows the office — a jewel of a son for the barren and wealth for those who have none — and its last verse claims for him the whole world rather than only its treasuries. Signed by a servant named Jayant.
