शुभं करोति कल्याणमारोग्यं

(Shubham Karothi Kalyanam)

Also known as subham karoti kalyanamarogyam dhanasampada · Shubham Kurutvam Kalyanam

This verse is an invocation to the light of the lamp, which is often lit daily as well as during rituals in Hindu tradition. The lamp’s light is revered as a symbol of knowledge and the dispelling of darkness, both literal and metaphorical. The shloka begins by highlighting the benevolent powers of the lamp's light. It states that the lamp's radiance brings about auspiciousness and well-being (śubhaṃ karoti). The light also bestows profound spiritual blessings (kalyāṇam), good health (ārogyaṃ), and prosperity and wealth (dhanasaṃpadā).
