Here begins the Śrī Lalitā Hṛdaya Stotram. Salutations to Śrī Lalitāmbikā.

Salutations to Sri Lalitambika. The Goddess (Parvati) spoke: "O God of gods, O Mahadeva, O embodiment of Sat-Chit-Ananda (existence-consciousness-bliss), I am most curious, O Lord, about the Hridayam (heart-hymn) of the Sundari (Lalitha). (1)"

"Well asked, well asked, O wise one — this is for the benefit of all the world. I shall reveal this secret as well — listen with an attentive mind. (2)"

I bow to Lalitha, who is the Sri Vidya herself, the sustainer of all the worlds, the sovereign of creation, preservation and dissolution, the eternal one, the bestower of all desires on devotees. (3)

I bow to the Sri Chakra — endowed with the bindu and the triangle, the eight-angle (vasukona), the two ten-angle figures, and the fourteen-angle figure. (4)

— adorned with the eight-petal ring, the sixteen-petal ring, the three circles, and beautified by the three enclosing squares. (5)

I bow to the Lalitha Chakra — the giver of all desires to devotees. I bow to the ocean of nectar therein, and I bow to the Island of Jewels (Ratna Dvipa) within it. (6)

I bow to the great garden of manifold trees therein; I bow to the grove of Kalpa trees. I bow to the Santana grove and the Harichandan grove. (7)

With joy I worship the Mandara grove and the Parijata grove. O Goddess, I bow to your grove of Kadamba trees. (8)

I bow to the great enclosure-wall of Pushyaraga jewels. I always bow to the enclosure of Padmaraga and other gems. (9)

I take refuge in the enclosure of Gomeda gems and the enclosure of Vajra (diamond). O Kuleshvari, I bow to the enclosure of Vaidurya gems. (10)

I bow to the enclosure of Indranila (sapphire) gems. I bow to the great enclosure of Muktaphala (pearls). (11)

Salutations again and again to the enclosure of great Marata (emerald) jewels. I bow to the enclosure of great Vidruma (coral) jewels. (12)

O Lalitha, O Devi, O Goddess — I bow to the ruby-pillared hall and the hall of a thousand jewelled pillars; I worship your Amrita Vapika (lake of nectar). (13)

I bow to the Ananda Vapika (lake of bliss); I worship the Vimarsha Vapika (lake of reflection). I worship the warmth-garden of Bala (the Goddess as a young girl) and the Chandrika garden (moonlight grove). (14)

I worship the great moat of Mahashringara (great love) and the great Patma forest. I bow to the great Chintamani gem palace, the palace of palaces. (15)

O Goddess, I bow to your Eastern Gate, which is the form of the Eastern Amnaya. I take refuge in your Southern Gate, which is the form of the Southern Amnaya. (16)

I bow to the Western Gate, which is the form of the Western Amnaya. I bow to the Northern Gate, which is the form of the Northern Amnaya. (17)

I bow to the Upward Gate, which is the form of the Upper Amnaya, O Kuleshvari. O Lalitha, O Devi, O Goddess — I worship your great throne. (18)

I bow to one leg of your throne, which is of the nature of Brahma. I bow to another leg of your throne, which is of the nature of Vishnu. (19)

I bow to another leg of your throne, which is of the nature of Rudra. I bow to the leg of your throne, O Goddess, which is of the nature of Ishvara. (20)

I bow to the auspicious single plank of your throne, which is of the nature of Sadashiva. O supreme Goddess, I bow to the swan-feather mattress of your seat. (21)

I bow to the great swan-feather pillow of your couch. O Kuleshvari, I bow always to the Kaustubha gem spread as a sheet on your seat. (22)

I bow to the great canopy; I worship the great curtain. Having thus meditated on the puja chamber, I worship the auspicious Lalitha in the Sri Chakra. (23)

I place flowers and aksharas (grains) to your right, O great Goddess. I present to you countless lamps, O Mahadevi. (24)

With the root mantra I worship your Tripura Chakra. O Maheshvari, I worship you with the three sections of your Tripura Vidya. (25)

O Shiva, with pranayama — united with air, fire and water — I perform the drying (shosha), the burning (dahana) and the flooding (plavana) of the body. (26)

With the root mantra I perform pranayama three times. Whatever evil spirits and beings stand on earth and in the atmosphere — (27)

I clap three times with this mantra, O Shiva. "I am Narayana, I am Brahma, I am Bhairava, I am Shiva." (28)

"I am the Deva, I am supreme bliss, O Tripurasundari." Having thus meditated on the Vajra armour, I perform nyasa (mantra-placement) in your form, O Goddess. (29)

O Mahatripurasundari, united with the seed-mantra of the Kumari Goddess — "protect me, protect me" — thus I perform the anjali (folded-hands salutation) in my heart, O Goddess. (30)

I prepare the seat for the great Goddess with the mantra "Mahadevyasanaya." I bow to the seat of the Sri Chakra and to the seat of all mantras, O Shiva. (31)

O Maheshvari, with the siddhasana mantra — I prepare for this Chakra the supreme seat of all the deities united with mantras. (32)

I perform the shadanga (six-limbed) nyasa. I place the Matrika (the divine mother-alphabet) and the Kala (divine art-rays). I place Shrikantha, Keshava, the Prapancha mantra and the Yoga Matrika. (33)

I then perform Tattva Nyasa and the Chatushpitha as practised in tradition. I then perform the Laghu Shodha and the supremely excellent Shakti Nyasa. (34)

I then perform the Pitha Nyasa and the invocation of the deity, O beloved. I practice the Kunkuma Nyasa and then the Chakra Nyasa. (35)

I then perform the Chakra Nyasa and the Kama Kala Dvaya nyasa. I perform the Anga Nyasa with the sixteen-syllabled Mahamantra. (36)

I then perform the Mahashodha and then the Shambhava ritual, O greatly beloved. Then, having recited the root mantra and then the sandals (paduka), — (37)

— having duly worshipped the Guru, I then inwardly worship the Goddess. I prepare the round mandala and the square mandala, O Shivapriya. (38)

Having worshipped with flowers the sadhara (with support), I worship the conch. I worship with the six limbs and fill the conch with water. (39)

I offer the first dot (bindu) and sanctify the root mantra. O Mother of the universe, I sprinkle the triangle joined with the circle with that water. (40)

I bow to the mandala consisting of hexagon and square. I worship here the three-sectioned Vidya and the Trisection worship. (41)

O beloved, I worship the circle and hexagon with the seed mantra. Within that, I take refuge in the maṇimaṇḍala (jewel-circle) of the Devi Kala. (42)

I bow to Dhumrarchis, Ushma, Jvalini, and I bow to Visphulingini (the sparkling one). (43)

I bow to Sushri and Surupa; I bow to Kampila. I bow to Havyavaha (fire of the sacred offerings), the eternal one; I worship the Kala of Kavyavaha. (44)

Within that I bow to the twelve divine energies (kalas) of the solar disc. I bow to Tapini and Tapini of the arghya (offering-water) and the padya (foot-water). (45)

I bow to Dhumra and Marichi; I worship Jvalini and Maruha. I bow to Sushumna and the boon-giving one; I bow to Vishva and Bodhini. (46)

I bow to Dharini and Kshama; I worship these Kalas of Sauri. I take refuge in the lunar disc with its sixteen kalas. (47)

I bow to Amrita and Manadha; I worship Pusha and Tushti. I worship Pushti, O Mahadevi, and I worship Rati and Dhriti. (48)

I bow to Rashani and Chandrika; I worship Kanti and Jyotsna and Shri. I bow to Priti, Agata-da, and the full moon, and I worship the nectar-born. (49)

I draw the triangle and inscribe within it the letters beginning with Akara — the bright Hamsa and Bhaskara, combined with the vowels and consonants. (50)

I worship the Hamsa united with the Vak-Kama-Shakti. Outside the circle, I draw the hexagon. (51)

I worship the hexagon beginning with Ka-Kha-Ga with the Sri Vidya. With the Sri Vidya I sanctify this seven times. (52)

O Goddess, I offer to you fragrant powder, flowers and aksharas from that place. I meditate on all the puja materials united with the Vidya. (53)

Having touched the ninety-four mantras, I recite them here. I worship the ten kalas of Agni (fire) and the twelve kalas of Surya (sun). (54)

I then take refuge in the sixteen kalas of the moon. I bow to Srishti (creation), Vriddhi (growth), Smriti (memory), Medha (wisdom) and Kanti (radiance). (55)

I bow to Lakshmi, Dyuthi and Sthita, and I worship Sthiti and Siddhi. I bow to these Brahma Kalas, and I worship Jara and Palini. (56)

I bow to Shanti, I bow to Ishvari, and I bow to Rati and Karika. I bow to Varada and Hladini; I worship Priti, Dirgha and Bhabha. (57)

I bow to these Vishnu Kalas; I worship Tikshana, Raudri and Bhaya. I bow to Nidra, Tandri and Kshudha; I bow to Krodhini and Kriya. (58)

I bow to Ulkari and the death-form Mrityurupa — these are the Rudra Kalas I worship. I worship the Nila, Pita (yellow), Shveta (white), and I bow to the Aruna kala. (59)

I worship the kala named Ananta — these are the kalas of Ishvara. I worship Nivritti, Pratishtha, Vidya and Shanti. (60)

I bow to Rodhika and Dipika; I worship Rechika and Mochika. O Kuleshvari, I bow to Para, Sukshma, and Amrita-Sukshma. (61)

I bow to Jnana-named and I bow to the Jnanamrita kala. I bow to Apyayini, Vyapini and Modini. (62)

These sixteen kalas of Sadashiva — I bow to all of them. I bow to the Vishnu Yoni (source), and I bow to the Mula Vidya. (63)

I bow to the Tryambaka (three-eyed one) and I bow to Vishnu. I bow to the Vishnu Yoni, and I bow to the Mula Vidya. (64)

I bow to the nectar charged with the ninety-four mantras, in the one who is of the nature of the indivisible, single, essential bliss-consciousness. (65)

O Kularupini, place the naturally overflowing mantra-nectar within me. O one who dwells in the akulastha (beyond-kula state), O one of the form of nectar and accomplishment and knowledge. (66)

O one who is of moist (wet) form, place this nectar in this vessel. Having made this one-essence of that form, O one of that very nature — (67)

— having become the form of supreme nectar, cause the consciousness to flash forth in me. I bow to this supreme nectar charged with these best of mantras. (68)

O Sundari, I bow to this luminous supreme arghya (offering-water). With those drops, I gratify the Guru upon my head. (69)

Into the Brahma-fire, I offer those drops into the Kundalini. Into the heart-chakra I meditate on the Goddess — the Mahatripurasundari — (70)

— who has dispelled the darkness of delusion, who is the direct form of pure consciousness. I bring her forth through the tip of the nose as the supreme kala (divine art). (71)

I bow to the one dwelling in the Yoni (sacred source), and I offer the three-sectioned handful of flowers. O mother of the world, O Mahadevi, I install you in the yantra. (72)

I create for you an image of pure consciousness-nectar. With this mantra and yantra, O Goddess, I install you here. (73)

O you who dwell in the great lotus forest, O you of infinite form as the primal cause, O you who are the welfare of all beings, O Mother, O Supreme Goddess — (74)

O Goddess, O easily accessible to devotees, O you adorned with all ornaments — as long as I worship you here, may you remain steady. (75)

With these two mantra-pairs I invoke you here. I offer salutations and I offer arghya (water-offering) to you. (76)

I offer fragrant oil anointing, the bath-hall and its entrance, and the stepping onto the jewelled platform. (77)

O Goddess, O Ishani, accept this divine bath-water. O auspicious one, accept the warm-water bath; I offer the consecration. (78)

With golden vessels anointed with fragrant oil, I offer the consecration. I offer salutations and the drying with a white cloth. (79)

I offer a garment radiant as the baby sun, a silken lower garment. I offer the red upper garment. (80)

I offer the entering of the hall, the anointing of all limbs. I offer salutations and the seating on the jewelled platform. (81)

O Ambika, I offer the marks drawn on you with eight fragrant substances. O Shiva, I offer the great incense of black aloe wood (kalaagaru). (82)

O Shiva, I offer a garland made of jasmine, tija, champaka and other charming flowers that have been gathered. (83)

I offer salutations and the entering of the ornament hall. I offer your being seated on the jewelled platform. (84)

I offer a crown of nine rubies for you there. Upon it is placed the crescent moon that shines like the autumn moon. (85)

Then I offer the sindura (vermilion) for the parting of your hair and the kasturi (musk) tilaka (mark). I offer the black collyrium (kala anjana) and the excellent ear-ornaments. (86)

I offer the two gem earrings and the nose ornament, O Goddess. O Lalitha, I adorn you with the two tatanka ear-ornaments. (87)

Now I offer the first ornament for your neck — the excellent great cintamani jewel. Attached to it, I offer the supremely excellent great pendant (padaka). (88)

I offer the pearl necklace along with the single-strand necklace. I offer four sets of armlets, bangles and rings. (89)

I offer, O Goddess, the rows of bracelets, the rows of rings and the finger-rings, the waist-belt (kanchidama), the hip-cord, and the auspicious ornament. (90)

O Tripura, I offer the ankle-bracelets (patakas) and the gem-studded anklets (nupuras). For your hands I offer one noose (pasha). (91)

In another hand, O Goddess, I offer the goad (ankusha). I offer the sugarcane bow (Pundrekshudhanush) and in yet another hand the flowered arrow. And to your feet I offer the beautiful jewelled sandals. (92)

O Goddess, after all these outer enclosure deities I bow to the great throne and the ascending thereof, and the supremely excellent seating on the lap of Kameshvara. (93)

I offer the golden vessel filled with nectar, and then the supremely excellent drinking thereof. O Shiva, I offer you the camphor-betel-leaf (karpura-vitika). (94)

I offer the swan that flutters with blissful joy. I bow to the auspicious waving of the lamps (Mangala-aratrika). I offer you the royal umbrella (chatra). (95)

O Goddess, I offer the two-fold fly-whisk (chamara) and the mirror. I offer the palm-fan (talavinta) and also fragrant flowers and aksharas. (96)

I offer incense, lamp, and naivedya (sacred food), O beloved of Shiva. Now, in the Bindu Chakra — which is all-bliss in nature — (97)

— the Goddess who is dear to Shiva, seated on the beautiful gem-throne, radiant like thousands of rising suns, equal in brilliance to the Manipushpa flower — (98)

— crowned with a crown radiant with nine gems, adorned with the crescent moon, marked with a kasturi tilaka — (99)

— whose arched eyebrows rival a beautiful bow, whose eyes are anointed with collyrium, whose eyes are like the petals of a lotus — (100)

— whose two ears are adorned with gem earrings, whose mouth is filled with betel-leaf (tambula), whose face is radiant with a gentle smile — (101)

— adorned with the first ornament, wearing a golden cintamani, together with a padaka pendant and a great padaka — (102)

— adorned with pearl necklace and single-strand necklace, four-armed, wearing armlets together with Kaustubha gem — (103)

— anointed with eight fragrant substances, resplendent with Sri Chandana sandalwood, whose two breasts are like golden pots — (104)

— wearing a red lower garment and a red bodice, whose slender waist is adorned with the finest hair-line — (105)

— whose hips are adorned with a pearl-and-ruby waist-belt, whose great, broad hips rest on the lap of Sadashiva — (106)

— whose two thighs are resplendent like plantain stems, whose calves shine with the lustre of the shin-guards of Kapali — (107)

— whose two fine ankles are adorned with red feet, whose feet are worshipped by the crowns of Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshvara — (108)

— whose feet are radiant with divine lustre, who is devoted to protecting devotees, who holds the noose (pasha), the goad (ankusha), the sugarcane bow and the flowered arrow, the beautiful one — (109)

— the embodiment of pure consciousness — I bow to and meditate on the Supreme Goddess. I then display to her the ten auspicious mudras (hand-gestures) that bestow results. (110)

O Tripura, I gratify you with the three offerings. In the fire corner (southeast), in the Maheshvara direction (northeast), in the Nairiti (southwest), and in the Maruta (northwest) direction — (111)

— in the Indra direction (east) and the Varuna (west) direction, I worship the six limbs in order. I bow to the primal Kameshvari; I bow to Bhagamalini. (112)

I bow to Nityaklinna; I bow to Bherunda. I bow to Vahnivasini; I worship Mahavidyeshvari. (113)

I bow to Shivaduti; I bow to Tvarita and Kula Sundari. I bow to Nitya, Nila-Pataka, Vijaya and Sarva Mangala. (114)

I praise Jvala-Mala, Chitra and Maha-Nitya. I bow to the Parashakti known as Prakashananda Natha. (115)

I bow to the white goddess; I bow to Kuleshvari. I bow to the Parashakti known as Parashivananda Natha. (116)

I always bow to the Kauleshvarananda Natha and to Kameshvari. I bow to Bhogananda; I bow to the group of Siddhas, O fair-faced one. (117)

I bow to Klinnnananda; I bow to Samayananda. I bow again and again to Sahajananda Natha. (118)

I bow to the Manava lineage (mana-vaugah); I bow to Gagananda. I bow to Vishvananda; I bow to Vimalananda. (119)

I bow to Madanananda Natha and to the one of the nature of Bhuvananda. I bow to Lilananda; I bow to Svatmananda, O Maheshvari. (120)

I bow to Priyananda, the bestower of all desired fruits. I bow to the Parameshti Guru; I take refuge in the Parama Guru. (121)

I bow to the Sri Guru; on my crown I bow to Brahmavileshvari. I also bow to the sandals of the Sri Guru known as Shriman Ananda Natha. (122)

O Goddess, now in the first square (outer enclosure) I bow to Anima and Laghima, O Kuleshvari. I bow to Mahima. (123)

I bow to the Ishitva Siddhi and Vashitva; I worship Prakamya, Bhukti (enjoyment) and Ichchha Prapti. (124)

I worship Sarvakama Prada (bestower of all desires) and the Sarvakama Siddhi. In the middle square, I bow to Brahmi and Maheshvari. (125)

I bow to Kaumari and Vaishnavi; I bow to Varahi. I bow to Mahendri and also Chamunda; I worship Mahalakshmi. (126)

In the third square, I worship Sarva-Sankshobhini (the agitator of all). I worship Sarvavidravini (the disperser of all) and Sarvakarshini (the attractor of all). (127)

I bow to the Vasankari mudra; I worship Sarvaonmadini (the maddener of all). I worship the Mahankusha mudra; I bow to Khechari. (128)

I worship the Bija mudra and the Yoni mudra; I worship Sarva-Trikhandini. I bow to your Trailokya Mohana Chakra (the chakra that enchants the three worlds), O Lalitha. (129)

I bow to the Yogini therein named Prakata, who bestows all desired objects. I bow to your supreme throne there, O Goddess. (130)

I bow to the Chakreshvari; I bow to Tripura. I then contemplate the Sarva-Sankshobhini mudra, O Shiva. (131)

Now in the sixteen-petalled lotus I worship Kamakarshinika (attracting desire). I bow to Buddhyakarshinika (attracting intelligence) and Ahankara akarshinika (attracting ego). (132)

I bow to Shabdakarshinika (attracting sound); I worship Sparshakarshinika (attracting touch). I bow to Rupakarshinika (attracting form); I worship Rasakarshinika (attracting taste). (133)

I bow to Gandhakarshinika (attracting smell); I worship Chittakarshinika (attracting mind). I bow to Dhairyakarshinika (attracting courage); I worship Smrityakarshinika (attracting memory). (134)

I bow to Namakarshinika (attracting name); I worship Bijakarshinika (attracting seed-mantra). I bow to Atmakarshinika (attracting the Self); I worship Amritakarshinika (attracting nectar). (135)

I bow to Sharirakarshinika (attracting the body), the eternal one, O Sri Parameshvari. I bow to Sarvashapuraka (fulfiller of all hopes), O Goddess, I offer it to you. (136)

I bow to the Yogini there named Gupta (the hidden one), the secretly worshipped mother. I bow to the lotus-seat of gold there, O Lalitha. (137)

I bow to TripureshI; I worship the bestower of all desired objects. I contemplate for you, O Shiva, the Sarvavidravini mudra. (138)

O Shiva, in your eight-petalled lotus I worship Anangakusuma. I bow to Anangamekhala; I worship Anangamadana. (139)

I bow and I bow to Anangamadanatura. I contemplate Anangarekha; I worship Ananga and Vegini. (140)

I bow to Anangakusha; I worship Anangamalini. I bow to the supreme seat of the Goddess there. (141)

I bow to the Jagatishani (ruler of the universe) there — the Tripurasundari. I contemplate for you the Sarvakarshini mudra there. (142)

In your enclosure of worlds, O Shiva, I worship Sarva-Sankshobhini. I bow to Sarvavidravini; I worship Sarvakarshini. (143)

I bow to Sarvahladini; I worship Sarvasammohini. I bow to Sarvastambhini (the one who paralyses all); I contemplate Sarvajrimbhini (the one who makes all yawn/expand). (144)

I bow to Vashankari; I worship Sarvaranjinika. I bow to Sarvalalonmadini; I worship Sarvaarthasadhaka (accomplisher of all objects). (145)

I bow to Sampattihurika; I worship Sarvamantramayimahi. I also worship the Shakti that destroys all pairs of opposites (dvandvas). (146)

I contemplate there the Chakra of Sarvasaubhagyadayaka (bestower of all good fortune). I bow to the Yogini there named Sampradaya, the sustainer of the world. (147)

I bow to the supreme Goddess, the dweller in the great Tripura. O Shiva, I contemplate for you the Sarva-Shankari mudra. (148)

In the outer ten-angle chakra, O Goddess, I worship Sarvasiddhiprada (bestower of all accomplishments). I bow to Sarvasampat-prada (bestower of all wealth); I worship Sarvapriyankari (one who pleases all). (149)

I then bow to the Goddess Sarvamangalakarini (maker of all auspiciousness). I bow to Sarvakama-prada (bestower of all desires); I bow to Sarvadukha-vimochini (liberator from all sorrows). (150)

I bow to Sarvamrityuprashamani (pacifier of all death); I bow to Sarvavigananivarini (remover of all obstacles). I bow to Sarvangsundari (beautiful in all limbs); I bow to Sarvasaubhagyadayini (bestower of all good fortune). (151)

I contemplate there the Sarvaarthasadhaka Chakra. I bow there to the Yogini known as Kulottirna. (152)

I bow to the Sarvamantra-seat; I take refuge in Tripurashri. I then contemplate the mudra of Sarvaonmadanakari (maker of all ecstasy). (153)

In the inner ten-angle chakra, O Goddess, I bow to Sarvajña (all-knowing). I bow to Sarva-Shakti (all power); I worship the bestower of all sovereignty. (154)

I bow to Sarvajnanamayim (embodiment of all knowledge); I bow to Sarvavyadhi-vinashini (destroyer of all disease). I bow to Sarvadhara-svarupa (form of all supports); I worship Sarvapapa-hara (remover of all sins). (155)

I bow to Sarvanandamayim (embodiment of all bliss); I bow to Sarvaraksha-svarupini (of the form of all protection). I bow to the Mahadevi; I bow to the bestower of all desired fruits. (156)

I always contemplate the Sarvarakshakara Chakra and the Sundari. I bow there to the Nigarbhayoni (the hidden womb). (157)

I bow to the Sadhyasiddhasana (the seat of the perfected accomplished); I worship the Tripura Malini. I then contemplate the Goddess — the mudra of Sarva Mahankusha. (158)

In the eight-angle chakra I bow to Vasini; I worship the Maha Kameshvari. I bow to Modini and Vimala; I bow to Aruna and Jayini. (159)

I bow to Sarveshvari; I bow to Kaulini. I always contemplate there the Sarvarogahara Chakra (chakra that removes all diseases). (160)

I bow to Tripura Siddhi; I bow to the Khechari mudra. O Kuleshvari — in the great triangle-shaped arm and in the square: (161)

I bow to the Jrimbhanabana (arrow of yawning/expansion) and to the Sarvasammohini. I worship the noose and the bow; I always worship the goad and the paralysing (stambhana). (162)

In the triangle I bow to Jagaddhatri (sustainer of the world) and to Maha Kameshvari. I bow to Maha Vajreshvari; I bow to the Maha Shri Bhagamalini. (163)

I bow to the Maha-Shri-Sundari, the bestower of all desired fruits. O Goddess, I bow to the Sarvasiddhiprada Chakra (the chakra bestowing all accomplishments). (164)

I bow to the supremely secret Yogini — the Atirahasy-akhya — who grants all desires. I bow to Tripuramba; I bow to the Bija mudra and the Mahamba. (165)

O Lalitha, with the root mantra I worship you in the Bindu (central point). O Goddess, I worship the Sarvanandam Chakra (chakra of all bliss). (166)

I bow to the supreme Para-Rahasya Yogini therein who grants all desires. I bow to the Maha Chakreshvari; I bow to the Yoni mudra. (167)

I offer incense, lamps and all else that has been placed. O Shiva, I then display to you the Maha Mudra (the great gesture). (168)

I offer to you cooked rice with honey, payasa (sweet rice), fried cakes, clarified butter and lentil soup, curd and milk — (169)

— together with all eatables and many kinds of greens. Placing all this in a golden vessel, I offer the naivedya (sacred food) to you. (170)

O Lalitha, with the sankalpabindu (consciousness-dot) in the chakra, with two dots on the breasts, and with the yoni in the upper half — I have formed your Kamakala (the sacred geometric form). (171)

This Kamakala form bestows all desires on devotees. I bow to the Tripurasundari therein, the bestower of all good fortune. (172)

On your left side, O Maheshani, I draw a circle and a square. With fragrant powder, flowers and aksharas, I worship the Maheshvari. (173)

I bow to the Vagdeva (goddess of speech) and to the pervading circle. With water-filled hands and the pure mudra — (174)

— with that mantra, O Goddess, I offer you the supreme bali (offering). Salutations to you, O God of gods, O God! Salutations, O one worshipped by the three worlds! (175)

Salutations to you, O seated on the lap of Shiva! Salutations, O Tripurasundari! I now offer to you this pradakshina (circumambulation) and namaskar. (176)

O Supreme Goddess, I then recite the assembled collection of Kalpa mantras. O Shiva, I recite the Mahavidya for your gratification. (177)

Having recited your Vidya, I now praise you, O Supreme Goddess. O Mahadevi, O Maheshani, O one composed of Maha Shiva, O beloved — (178)

O eternal one, O great accomplished one — O Shiva, I take refuge in you. Victory to you, O Tripura, O Lalitha, O Supreme Goddess. (179)

O one dear to Sadashiva, O treasury of compassion — protect me! O mother of the universe, O form of the universe, O beloved of the lord of the universe — (180)

O one who pervades the universe, O one worthy of the world's praise, O Gauri — I take refuge in you. O beginningless one, O primal one of all worlds, O bestower of all desired objects to devotees — (181)

O daughter of the mountain-king, salutations to you, O Tripurasundari! Victory, O conqueror of enemies! Victory, O sovereign Goddess! O Brahma's mother, O Maheshvari! (182)

O mother of Vishnu, O primordial and eternal one, O Hara's mother, O Sureshvari! O one praised by the mothers headed by Brahmi, O one adorned with all ornaments! (183)

O one of luminous form, O one of great form, O Tripura — protect me always! O one worshipped by Lakshmi, Vani and others, O beloved of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva! (184)

I worship your lotus feet, O Goddess, O Tripurasundari! For your gratification, I worship the Shakti of Kanchi (the golden girdle). (185)

Then I gratify the banner Shakti, O Maheshvari. Even so, I offer everything into the fire of consciousness, worshipping you. (186)

O Mahadevi, for your gratification and for the fulfilment of my desired objects — having bound you with the Khechari mudra, I now forgive myself and perform the udvasa (farewell). (187)

O Tripura, O Supreme Goddess — dwell in my heart always. O mother of the universe, O great queen, O great power, O beloved of Shiva — (188)

O Mahatripurasundari — dwell in my heart-chakra always. This Hridayam of Tripurasundari bestows all desired objects. (189)

It is the greatest secret, eternally difficult to attain even by the gods. It was directly declared by Sadashiva himself — supremely secret among all secrets. (190)

Whoever reads this daily with faith, or hears it with an attentive mind — shall without doubt attain the fruits of the daily worship of the Goddess. (191)
