ଶ୍ରୀ ଷୋଡଶାଯୁଧ ସ୍ତୋତ୍ରମ୍

Nineteen verses by Vedanta Desika, who signs the last of them as Venkatanatha, on the sixteen weapons of Vishnu — the form in which the Lord stands attended by his own instruments, each of them treated as a divine person in its own right. The opening verse gives the frame: the lord of weapons, served by sixteen of them, and those sixteen fashioned out of fragments of his own will. Then each takes a verse. The discus is asked for protection as the wheel upon which both the wheel of the world and the unending wheel of time depend; the Panchajanya as the conch whose highness shows itself equally in where it is held and in the sound that it makes. The last verse calls the whole a praise of the king of weapons, made for the lasting good of good men.
