Lord Vishnu

oṃ ugraṃ vīraṃ mahāviṣṇuṃ

(Ugram Veeram Maha Vishnum in English (IAST))

Also known as om ugram viram mahavisnum jvalantam sarvatomukham

The Ugraṁ Vīraṁ Mahāviṣṇuṁ is a celebrated single-verse mantra addressed to Narasiṁha, the man-lion incarnation of Lord Viṣṇu. Known as the Narasiṁha Mantra, it praises the deity's twofold nature — at once ugraṁ vīraṁ bhīṣaṇaṁ (ferocious, valiant, and terrifying) toward evil, yet bhadraṁ (auspicious and gracious) toward devotees. The powerful epithet mr̥tyōr mr̥tyuṁ, "the death of death," captures his role as the destroyer of fear and mortality itself. This mantra is widely recited by devotees of Narasiṁha and holds a special place in temples dedicated to him, where it is chanted with great intensity.
