The Eightfold Hymn of Adoration to Lord Ganesha
॥ શ્રીગણેશાય નમઃ ॥

શ્રીગણેશ પ્રાર્થના -
An Invocation and Prayer to the Blessed Lord Ganesha
લમ્બોદરાય શિવપુત્રગણેશ્વરાય બુદ્ધિપ્રદાય ભવદુઃખવિનાશકાય ।
ત્રૈલોક્યપૂજ્યપરમાદ્ભુતકારણાય વિઘ્નાન્તકાય સુખદાય નમો નમસ્તે ॥
Salutations, endless salutations unto You, the large-bellied Lord, the divine son of Shiva and sovereign of the celestial hosts; the bestower of wisdom and the destroyer of worldly sorrows. Worshipped across the three realms, the supreme and wondrous cause of all creation, the annihilator of obstacles, and the giver of eternal joy.

An Invocation and Prayer to the Auspicious Goddess Saraswati
વન્દે શ્રીજગદમ્બિકાં સરસ્વતીં વન્દે જગદ્વ્યાપિનીં વન્દે પુસ્તકધારિણીં ચ પરમાં વેદાન્તસારાંશકામ્ ।
વન્દે બ્રહ્મસ્વરૂપિણીં ચ વિમલાં વન્દે જગન્માતરં વન્દે દુઃખ વિનાશિનીં ભગવતીં ચૈતન્યરૂપાં પરામ્ ॥
I bow to the auspicious Mother of the Universe, Saraswati, who pervades the entire cosmos; I bow to Her who holds the sacred book, the supreme essence of all Vedanta. I bow to Her who is the very form of Brahman, the pure and spotless one; I bow to the Mother of the World, the divine Goddess who destroys all sorrow and shines as the supreme embodiment of pure consciousness.
અથ શ્રીગણેશાષ્ટકમ્ -
Thus begins the Sri Ganesha Ashtakam—the eightfold hymn of adoration to the auspicious Lord Ganesha.
અજં નિર્મલં નિર્ગુણં જ્ઞાનરૂપં નિરાકારસંસારસારં પરેશમ્ ।
જગન્મઙ્ગલં વિશ્વવન્દ્યં પવિત્રં પ્રભું સિદ્ધિદં તં ગણેશં નમામિ ॥ ૧॥
To the unborn, the stainless, the attribute-less embodiment of pure wisdom, the formless essence of existence, the Supreme Lord; to Him who is the auspiciousness of the universe, adored by all creation, the sacred Lord who bestows all perfection—to that Ganesha, I bow in deep reverence.
પ્રસન્નં સદા બ્રહ્મરૂપં તુરીયં સદૈકાશ્રયં પ્રાણિનામેકમાત્રમ્ ।
પરં નિત્યમાનન્દકન્દં નિરીહં પ્રભું સિદ્ધિદં તં ગણેશં નમામિ ॥ ૨॥
To the ever-tranquil, who is the very form of the Absolute, dwelling in the transcendent fourth state of consciousness, the sole eternal refuge of all living beings; the supreme, eternal source of infinite bliss, desireless and self-contained, the Lord who bestows all perfection—to that Ganesha, I bow in deep reverence.
ગુરું જ્ઞાનિનાં યોગિનાં તત્ત્વરૂપં તથા પ્રાણિનાં વિઘ્નનાશં ગણેશમ્ ।
સદા મઙ્ગલં પાર્વતીપુત્રમેકં પ્રભું સિદ્ધિદં તં ગણેશં નમામિ ॥ ૩॥
To the Guru of the wise, the ultimate reality of the yogis, the destroyer of all obstacles for all living beings, Lord Ganesha; the ever-auspicious, the peerless son of Mother Parvati, the Lord who bestows all perfection—to that Ganesha, I bow in deep reverence.
સદૂર્વાદલં કુઙ્કુમં રક્તપુષ્પં તથા ચન્દનં સુન્દરં રક્તવસ્ત્રમ્ ।
સદા ધારકં જ્ઞાનમૂર્તિં હ્યખણ્ડં પ્રભું સિદ્ધિદં તં ગણેશં નમામિ ॥ ૪॥
I bow to that Lord Ganesha, who is ever adorned with sacred Durva grass, vermilion, red flowers, fragrant sandalwood, and beautiful red garments; the eternal embodiment of supreme wisdom, the indivisible and infinite Lord, who bestows all success and spiritual perfection.
સુસૌમ્યં નિજં નિર્વિકલ્પં વરેણ્યં સુજ્ઞાનં સુખં સત્સ્વરૂપં સુગમ્યમ્ ।
સુસિદ્ધં મુનીશં મહેશસ્ય પુત્રં પ્રભું સિદ્ધિદં તં ગણેશં નમામિ ॥ ૫॥
To the supremely gentle, independent, unconditioned, and most excellent one; the embodiment of supreme wisdom, bliss, and true existence, who is easily attainable. To the highly perfected Lord of sages, the divine son of the great Lord Shiva, the Lord who bestows perfection—to that Ganesha, I bow in deep reverence.
સદા ધ્યાયમાના ગણેશઞ્ચ દેવાઃ તથા પ્રાર્થયન્તશ્ચ વેદાઃ ગણેશમ્ ।
ગણેશાશ્રયે સન્તિ જીવાઃ સમસ્તાઃ પ્રભું સિદ્ધિદં તં ગણેશં નમામિ ॥ ૬॥
To Him upon whom the Gods ever meditate, and whom the sacred Vedas eternally praise; in whose divine refuge all living beings reside—to that Lord Ganesha, the bestower of all perfection, I bow in deep reverence.
પ્રભું ધર્મકામાર્થં મોક્ષપ્રદં તં પુનઃ પુત્રદં જ્ઞાનદં સર્વદં ચ ।
તથા સાધકં સર્વકામપ્રદઞ્ચ પ્રભું સિદ્ધિદં તં ગણેશં નમામિ ॥ ૭॥
I bow to that Lord Ganesha, the supreme master who bestows righteousness, prosperity, pleasure, and ultimate liberation; who grants progeny, wisdom, and indeed everything. To that Lord who fulfills all the desires of the seeker and bestows ultimate success, I offer my salutations.
અહં ત્વાં સદા પ્રાર્થયે ભો ગણેશ પ્રસન્નો ભવન્ સર્વદા બુદ્ધિનાથ ।
પરં દર્શનં માં دદાતુ હ્યનન્ત પ્રભું સિદ્ધિદં તં ગણેશં નમામિ ॥ ૮॥
I pray to You eternally, O Ganesha; may You ever be pleased with me, O Lord of Wisdom. Grant me Your supreme, divine vision, O Infinite One; I bow to that Lord Ganesha, the sovereign master who bestows all fulfillment.
પ્રાતઃકાલે શુચિર્ભૂત્વા યે પઠન્તિ નરાઃ સદા ।
શ્રીગણેશાષ્ટકં સ્તોત્રં સુખદં મોક્ષદં ભવેત્ ॥ ૯॥
Those who, purifying themselves in the quiet hours of dawn, constantly recite this sacred Ganesha Ashtakam, shall find it to be the bestower of supreme joy and ultimate liberation.
ઇતિ ગાયત્રીસ્વરૂપ બ્રહ્મચારીવિરચિતં શ્રીગણેશાષ્ટકં સમ્પૂર્ણમ્ ॥
