Salutations to Lord Ganesha.
ശുക്ലാമ്ബരധരം വിശ്ണും ശശിവര്ണം ചതുര്ഭുജമ് ।
പ്രസന്നവദനം ധ്യായേത്സര്വവിഘ്നോപശാന്തയേഃ ॥ ൧॥
One should meditate upon Lord Ganesha, who is dressed in white garments, who is all-pervading, whose complexion is like the moon, who has four arms, and who has a pleasing countenance, for the complete removal of all obstacles.
അഭീപ്സിതാര്ഥസിദ്ധ്യര്ഥം പൂജിതോ യഃ സുരാസുരൈഃ ।
സര്വവിഘ്നഹരസ്തസ്മൈ ഗണാധിപതയേ നമഃ ॥ ൨॥
Salutations to that Lord of the Ganas (Ganesha), the destroyer of all obstacles, who is worshipped by the gods and demons alike for the fulfillment of their desired objectives.
ഗണാനാമധിപശ്ചണ്ഡോ ഗജവക്ത്രസ്ത്രിലോചനഃ ।
പ്രസന്നോ ഭവ മേ നിത്യം വരദാതര്വിനായക ॥ ൩॥
O leader of the Ganas, who is fierce (to the wicked), who has an elephant's face, and who has three eyes! O Vinayaka, the giver of boons, be pleased with me always!
സുമുഖശ്ചൈകദന്തശ്ച കപിലോ ഗജകര്ണകഃ ।
ലമ്ബോദരശ്ച വികടോ വിഘ്നനാശോ വിനായകഃ ॥ ൪॥
1. Sumukha (One with an auspicious face), 2. Ekadanta (One with a single tusk), 3. Kapila (One of reddish-brown color), 4. Gajakarnaka (One with elephant ears), 5. Lambodara (One with a large belly), 6. Vikata (One with a formidable appearance), 7. Vighnanasha (The destroyer of obstacles), 8. Vinayaka (The supreme leader).
ധൂമ്രകേതുര്ഗണാധ്യക്ഷോ ഭാലചന്ദ്രോ ഗജാനനഃ ।
ദ്വാദശൈതാനി നാമാനി ഗണേശസ്യ തു യഃ പഠേത് ॥ ൫॥
9. Dhumraketu (One whose banner is smoke), 10. Ganadhyaksha (The Lord of the Ganas), 11. Bhalachandra (One who wears the moon on his forehead), 12. Gajanana (One with an elephant's face). Whoever recites these twelve names of Lord Ganesha...
വിദ്യാര്ഥീ ലഭതേ വിദ്യാം ധനാര്ഥി വിപുലം ധനമ് ।
ഇഷ്ടകാമം തു കാമാര്ഥീ ധര്മാര്ഥീ മോക്ഷമക്ഷയമ് ॥ ൬॥
...If a seeker of knowledge recites them, he attains knowledge; a seeker of wealth attains abundant wealth; a seeker of desires attains his cherished desires; and a seeker of righteousness attains imperishable liberation (Moksha).
വിദ്യാരംഭേ വിവാഹേ ച പ്രവേശേ നിര്ഗമേ തഥാ ।
സങ്ഗ്രാമേ സങ്കടേ ചൈവ വിഘ്നസ്തസ്യ ന ജായതേ ॥ ൭॥
For him (who recites these names), no obstacles will ever arise at the beginning of learning, during marriage, while entering or exiting (a new place or journey), in battle, and in times of crisis.
ഇതി മുദ്ഗലപുരാണോക്തം ശ്രീഗണേശദ്വാദശനാമസ്തോത്രം സമ്പൂര്ണമ് ।
