Hari is approaching, while the sweet breeze blows; Oh friend, what greater happiness could there be in this world? Oh proud one, do not harbor this pride toward Madhava. Why do you render your pitcher-like breasts fruitless, which are far more luscious and heavy than the palmyra fruit? How many times have I told you just moments ago, do not shun Hari, who is surpassingly beautiful. Why are you despairing and weeping in such distress? The entire assembly of young women is laughing at you. Behold Hari upon the couch, cool as a lotus leaf sprinkled with water, and let your eyes attain their fulfillment. Why do you give rise to such great sorrow in your heart? Listen to my words, which are devoid of any deceit. Let Hari approach and speak many sweet words; why do you make your heart so miserable? May this highly graceful song composed by Sri Jayadeva, bring joy to the hearts of those who relish the deeds of Hari. That you are harsh toward him who is tender, indifferent to him who bows before you, hostile to him who is passionate, and turn away from him who is looking toward you; it is fitting that for you, who acts in opposition, sandalwood paste becomes poison, the cool-rayed moon becomes the scorching sun, and snow becomes a raging fire, turning your joys of love into torments.
