Lord Agni

अग्नि सूक्तम् (ऋग्वेद)

(Agni Suktam (Rigveda 1.1, with svaras))

From Rigveda

Also known as agnimile purohitamya jnasya devamrtvijam

Agni Suktam consists of the opening hymns of the Rigveda, composed by the seer Madhuchchhanda Vaishvamitra. Dedicated to Agni, the Vedic deity of fire and the divine messenger, it serves as the foundational invocation for all ritualistic worship. Agni acts as the mediator between humanity and the celestial realms, carrying oblations to the gods. Chanting this hymn is believed to purify the mind, awaken spiritual intelligence, and ignite the inner flame of knowledge. It is traditionally recited to invoke auspiciousness, remove obstacles, and establish a profound connection with the cosmic forces of light and transformation.
