ஶநி க்ரஹ பஞ்சரத்ந ஸ்தோத்ரம்

I bow to Śanaiścara (Saturn), dark as black collyrium, son of Ravi, elder brother of Yama, born of Chāyā and Mārtāṇḍa. (1)

Salutation upon salutation to Śanaiścara, the peaceful one, granter of all desires, the refuge, the most excellent, the lord of all. (2)

Salutation upon salutation to the praise-worthy, the one attained through hymns, subdued by devotion, Bhānu; to the son of Bhānu, the auspicious, the purifier. (3)

Salutation upon salutation to the one established in the arc of Dhanus, the giver of wealth, the bearer of the bow, whose body glows with subtle light, the dark one. (4)

I bow to Śani of flame-crested brilliance in his crown, riding in a chariot drawn by blue vultures, endowed with four arms. (5)

Gāyatrī: Om. We know him who is the form of time; we meditate on the lord of Saturn's day. May Śani inspire us onward.
