ଶନି ଵଜ୍ରପଞ୍ଜର କଵଚମ୍

May he who wears dark garments and has a dark form, bearing a crown, stationed upon a vulture, holding weapons and a bow in his hands, four-armed, the son of Sūrya — the serene and tranquil bestower of boons — always be gracious to me.

Brahmā said: Hear, O sages all, this great remover of Śani’s affliction — the unsurpassed armour of King Śani. This armour, the dwelling-place of the deity, is called Vajra-pañjara, the cage of adamant.

Oṃ — may Śrī Śanaiścara (the slow-moving / Saturn) protect my forehead; may Sūryanandana (son of the Sun) protect my forehead. May Chāyātmaja (born of Chāyā / Saturn) protect my eyes; may Yamānuja (younger brother of Yama) protect my ears. (1)

May Vaivasvata (son of Vivasvat / Saturn) protect my nose; may Bhāskara (the radiant one) always protect my face. May Snigdhakaṇṭha (the smooth-throated one) protect my throat; may Mahābhuja (the great-armed one) protect my arms. (2)

May Śaniścara protect my shoulders; may Śubhaprada (the bestower of auspiciousness) protect my hands. May Yamabhrātā (brother of Yama) protect my chest; may Asita (the dark one) likewise protect my abdomen. (3)

May Grahapati (lord of planets) protect my navel; may Manda (the slow one) likewise protect my waist. May Antaka (the ender) protect my thighs; may Yama protect my pair of knees likewise. (4)

May Mandagati (the slow-paced one) protect my feet; may Pippala (the sacred fig / Saturn) protect all my limbs. May Sūryanandana (son of the Sun) protect all my body parts and appendages. (5)

Whoever recites this divine armor of the son of the Sun — no affliction befalls that person, and the son of the Sun becomes pleased.

Whether Saturn is in the twelfth, the second, at the house of death, or in the seventh — Saturn remains ever well pleased toward such a one.

Even when the son of the Sun occupies the eighth, twelfth, second, or first house — the one who daily recites this armor suffers no affliction anywhere.

This divine armor, composed in ancient times by the devotees of Sūrya, always removes the faults of Saturn in the twelfth, eighth, or birth house. The Lord removes all faults situated in the birth-lagna.
