Goddess Yogeshwari

śrī yogeśvarī āratī

(Shree Yogeshwari Aarti (Kulaswamini Jagadambe) in English (IAST))

Also known as shree yogeshwari aarti marathi · yogeshwari aarti (marathi) · marathi aarti

The Marathi arati of Yogeshwari at Ambajogai, addressed to her as the family goddess of the households that keep her, and its first verse states the situation the goddess is called into rather than describing her. Dharma has grown faint, the condition of things is pitiable, the people are afflicted by demons and there is nobody to save them — and only then the call, run, run, mother. The second verse answers it in the past tense: she destroyed the demons and protected dharma, kept the good and crushed the wicked, and then looked for a lonely place to rest and settled near the village of Amba. The third admits the Vedas and Puranas gave up trying to sing her. The last asks for nothing but a place at her feet, and says so in as many words.
