শ্রী অমরনাথার্তিক্যম্

(Shri Amaranatha Artikyam (Hindi) in Bengali)

Also known as shri amaranatha artikyam · amarnath aarti · amarnath artikyam sanskrit

The aarti of Amarnath in Sanskrit — sung at the ice linga in the Kashmir cave — with the refrain that any pilgrim on that road knows set at the head: Om, Hara Hara Hara Mahadeva. What follows is shaped by where it is sung, and the images are all of cold and whiteness: bright as the rising sun and white as the sea of milk, your form flooded with snow, whose nature it is to break Kama. Eight verses in all, short enough to be said in the queue at the cave, and the last of them asks in the plainest terms the occasion allows: let this waving of the lamp be yours with gladness; be pleased, supreme self; destroy the obstacles and fulfil the desires, self of all.
