अस्य श्रीललितासहस्रनामस्तोत्रमालामन्त्रस्य ।
वशिन्यादिवाग्देवता ऋषयः ।
अनुष्टुप्छन्दः ।
श्रीललितापरमेश्वरी देवता ।
श्रीमद्वाग्भवकूटेति बीजम् ।
मध्यकूटेति शक्तिः ।
शक्तिकूटेति कीलकम् ।
श्रीललितामहात्रिपुरसुन्दरी-प्रसादसिद्धिद्वारा
चिन्तितफलावाप्त्यर्थे जपे विनियोगः ।
॥ Nyasa (Preliminary Invocation) ॥

Of this Sri Lalita Sahasranama Stotra Mala Mantra, the Rishis (seers) are the Vagdevatas (deities of speech) led by Vashini. The meter is Anushtup. The presiding deity is Sri Lalita Parameshwari. The seed (Beeja) is the Shrimad Vagbhava Kuta. The power (Shakti) is the Madhya Kuta. The pin (Kilaka) is the Shakti Kuta. I perform this Japa (recitation) for the grace and success of Sri Lalita Maha Tripura Sundari, and for the attainment of all desired fruits.
सिन्दूरारुणविग्रहां त्रिनयनां माणिक्यमौलिस्फुरत्
तारानायकशेखरां स्मितमुखीमापीनवक्षोरुहाम् ।
पाणिभ्यामलिपूर्णरत्नचषकं रक्तोत्पलं विभ्रतीं
सौम्यां रत्नघटस्थरक्तचरणां ध्यायेत्परामम्बिकाम् ॥
अरुणां करुणातरङ्गिताक्षीं
धृतपाशाङ्कुशपुष्पबाणचापाम् ।
अणिमादिभिरावृतां मयुखैः
अहमित्येव विभावये भवानीम् ॥
I meditate on the Supreme Mother (Ambika), whose form is radiant like the vermilion sun, who has three eyes, and whose crown is studded with sparkling rubies topped by the moon. Her face is smiling, her breasts are full and firm. In her hands, she holds a jewel-cup filled with nectar and a red lotus. She is gentle, and her red feet rest upon a jeweled pedestal.
ध्यायेत्पद्मासनस्थां विकसितवदनां पद्मपत्रायताक्षीं
हेमाभां पीतवस्त्रां करकलितलसद्धेमपद्मां वराङ्गीम् ।
सर्वालङ्कारयुक्तां सततमभयदां भक्तनम्रां भवानीं
श्रीविद्यां शान्तमूर्तिं सकलसुरनुतां सर्वसम्पत्प्रदात्रीम् ॥
Her complexion is red like the dawn, her eyes are waves of compassion, and she holds the noose, the goad, the flower-arrows, and the sugarcane bow. Surrounded by the rays of deities like Anima (the siddhis), I contemplate upon Her, the Bhavani, as 'I am She' (the Supreme Consciousness).
सकुङ्कुमविलेपनामलिकचुम्बिकस्तूरिकां
समन्दहसितेक्षणां सशरचापपाशाङ्कुशाम् ।
अशेषजनमोहिनीमरुणमाल्यभूषाम्बरां
जपाकुसुमभासुरां जपविधौ स्मरेदम्बिकाम् ॥
I meditate on Bhavani, seated on a lotus, her face blossoming, her eyes wide like lotus petals. She has the luster of gold, is draped in yellow garments, and holds a shining golden lotus in her hand. She is adorned with all ornaments, is ever-granting protection (Abhaya), bows to her devotees, is the embodiment of Sri Vidya, the peaceful one, praised by all gods, and the bestower of all wealth.
॥ अथ श्रीललितासहस्रनामस्तोत्रम् ॥
I remember the Mother (Ambika) during Japa: adorned with saffron paste and a musk tilak on her forehead, her eyes smiling gently, holding the bow of sugarcane, arrows, noose, and goad. She enchants all beings, is adorned with red garlands and garments, and shines like the Hibiscus flower.
ॐ श्रीमाता श्रीमहाराज्ञी श्रीमत्-सिंहासनेश्वरी ।
चिदग्नि-कुण्ड-सम्भूता देवकार्य-समुद्यता ॥ १॥
॥ Now begins the Sri Lalita Sahasranama Stotram ॥
उद्यद्भानु-सहस्राभा चतुर्बाहु-समन्विता ।
रागस्वरूप-पाशाढ्या क्रोधाकाराङ्कुशोज्ज्वला ॥ २॥
Om. She is the Divine Mother (Sri Mata), the Great Empress (Sri Maharani), the Queen of the illustrious throne (Srimat Simhasaneshwari). She was born from the fire-pit of pure consciousness (Chidagni-kunda) to fulfill the purpose of the Devas. (1)
मनोरूपेक्षु-कोदण्डा पञ्चतन्मात्र-सायका ।
निजारुण-प्रभापूर-मज्जद्ब्रह्माण्ड-मण्डला ॥ ३॥
She shines like a thousand rising suns and is endowed with four arms. She holds a noose in the form of desire (Raga) and a shining goad in the form of anger (Krodha). (2)
चम्पकाशोक-पुन्नाग-सौगन्धिक-लसत्कचा ।
कुरुविन्दमणि-श्रेणी-कनत्कोटीर-मण्डिता ॥ ४॥
She carries a sugarcane bow in the form of the mind and five arrows in the form of the five subtle elements (Tanmatras). Her own crimson brilliance permeates and drowns the entire universe. (3)
अष्टमीचन्द्र-विभ्राज-दलिकस्थल-शोभिता ।
मुखचन्द्र-कलङ्काभ-मृगनाभि-विशेषका ॥ ५॥
Her hair is adorned with Champaka, Ashoka, Punnaga, and Saugandhika flowers. She is adorned with a crown shining with rows of Kuruvinda gems. (4)
वदनस्मर-माङ्गल्य-गृहतोरण-चिल्लिका ।
वक्त्रलक्ष्मी-परीवाह-चलन्मीनाभ-लोचना ॥ ६॥
Her forehead is beautiful, shining like the crescent moon of the eighth day. Her musk tilak looks like the mark of a deer on the moon of her face. (5)
नवचम्पक-पुष्पाभ-नासादण्ड-विराजिता ।
ताराकान्ति-तिरस्कारि-नासाभरण-भासुरा ॥ ७॥
Her eyebrows are like the arched gateways to the abode of the God of Love (Cupid) on her face. Her eyes are like fish moving in the overflowing stream of the beauty of her face. (6)
कदम्बमञ्जरी-कॢप्त-कर्णपूर-मनोहरा ।
ताटङ्क-युगली-भूत-तपनोडुप-मण्डला ॥ ८॥
(8) She who is enchanting, wearing Kadamba flower bunches as ear ornaments; whose pair of earrings are the sun and the moon themselves.
पद्मराग-शिलादर्श-परिभावि-कपोलभूः ।
नवविद्रुम-बिम्बश्री-न्यक्कारि-रदनच्छदा ॥ ९॥
(9) Whose cheeks put to shame the brilliance of a mirror made of ruby; whose lips excel the beauty of the newly sprouted coral and the Bimba fruit.
शुद्ध-विद्याङ्कुराकार-द्विजपङ्क्ति-द्वयोज्ज्वला ।
कर्पूर-वीटिकामोद-समाकर्षि-दिगन्तरा ॥ १०॥
(10) Whose two rows of teeth are as bright as the sprouts of Pure Knowledge (Suddha Vidya); whose fragrance from the camphor-scented betel leaf attracts all directions.
निज-सल्लाप-माधुर्य-विनिर्भर्त्सित-कच्छपी ।
मन्दस्मित-प्रभापूर-मज्जत्कामेश-मानसा ॥ ११॥
(11) Whose sweetness of speech puts to shame the music of the Saraswati’s Veena (Kacchapi); whose flood of gentle smiles immerses the mind of Lord Kameswara.
अनाकलित-सादृश्य-चिबुकश्री-विराजिता ।
कामेश-बद्ध-माङ्गल्य-सूत्र-शोभित-कन्धरा ॥ १२॥
(12) Whose chin is radiant with a beauty that has no equal; whose neck is adorned with the sacred marriage thread (Mangala-sutra) tied by Lord Kameswara.
कनकाङ्गद-केयूर-कमनीय-भुजान्विता ।
रत्नग्रैवेय-चिन्ताक-लोल-मुक्ता-फलान्विता ॥ १३॥
(13) Whose charming arms are adorned with golden armlets and bracelets; who is bedecked with a gem-studded necklace and a pendant adorned with swinging pearls.
कामेश्वर-प्रेमरत्न-मणि-प्रतिपण-स्तनी ।
नाभ्यालवाल-रोमालि-लता-फल-कुचद्वयी ॥ १४॥
(14) Whose breasts are the pledge offered in exchange for the wish-fulfilling gem of Kameswara’s love; whose navel is the base (Alavala) for the creeper of hair that leads to her breast-fruits.
लक्ष्यरोम-लताधारता-समुन्नेय-मध्यमा ।
स्तनभार-दलन्मध्य-पट्टबन्ध-वलित्रया ॥ १५॥
(15) Whose waist is inferred to be slender by the existence of the creeper of hair; whose waist is graced by the three folds of skin, as if to support the weight of her breasts.
अरुणारुण-कौसुम्भ-वस्त्र-भास्वत्-कटीतटी ।
रत्न-किङ्किणिका-रम्य-रशना-दाम-भूषिता ॥ १६॥
(16) Whose hip-region shines with deep red (Aruna) saffron-dyed garments; who is decorated with a beautiful girdle string featuring tiny tinkling gem-bells.
कामेश-ज्ञात-सौभाग्य-मार्दवोरु-द्वयान्विता ।
माणिक्य-मुकुटाकार-जानुद्वय-विराजिता ॥ १७॥
(17) Whose two thighs, known for their auspiciousness and softness only to Lord Kameswara, are graceful; whose two knees are shaped like ruby crowns.
इन्द्रगोप-परिक्षिप्त-स्मरतूणाभ-जङ्घिका ।
गूढगुल्फा कूर्मपृष्ठ-जयिष्णु-प्रपदान्विता ॥ १८॥
(18) Whose calves resemble the quiver of Manmatha (Cupid) surrounded by Indra-gopa insects (cochineal insects); whose ankles are concealed and whose feet are arched like the back of a tortoise.
नख-दीधिति-संछन्न-नमज्जन-तमोगुणा ।
पदद्वय-प्रभाजाल-पराकृत-सरोरुहा ॥ १९॥
(19) Whose toenails’ radiance dispels the darkness (ignorance) of those who bow to her; whose twin feet’s radiance puts to shame the beauty of the lotus.
सिञ्जान-मणिमञ्जीर-मण्डित-श्री-पदाम्बुजा ।
मराली-मन्दगमना महालावण्य-शेवधिः ॥ २०॥
(20) Whose lotus-feet are adorned with jingling gem-studded anklets; who moves with the grace of a swan; who is a treasure trove of infinite beauty.
सर्वारुणाऽनवद्याङ्गी सर्वाभरण-भूषिता ।
शिव-कामेश्वराङ्कस्था शिवा स्वाधीन-वल्लभा ॥ २१॥
(21) She who is entirely red (in color/grace), whose limbs are flawless, and who is decorated with all ornaments; who sits on the lap of Shiva-Kameswara; she is Shiva (the auspicious one) and she who holds her beloved in her control.
सुमेरु-मध्य-शृङ्गस्था श्रीमन्नगर-नायिका ।
चिन्तामणि-गृहान्तस्था पञ्च-ब्रह्मासन-स्थिता ॥ २२॥
(22) Who resides on the middle peak of Mount Sumeru; who is the mistress of the glorious city (Sripura); who dwells within the Chintamani palace, seated upon the throne of the five Brahmas.
महापद्माटवी-संस्था कदम्बवन-वासिनी ।
सुधासागर-मध्यस्था कामाक्षी कामदायिनी ॥ २३॥
Residing in the great lotus forest, dwelling in the Kadamba forest, situated in the middle of the ocean of nectar, the fulfiller of desires, the one whose eyes evoke desire (Kamakshi).
देवर्षि-गण-संघात-स्तूयमानात्म-वैभवा ।
भण्डासुर-वधोद्युक्त-शक्तिसेना-समन्विता ॥ २४॥
Whose glory is praised by the host of celestial sages, accompanied by the army of Shaktis (divine powers) ready to slay the demon Bhandasura.
सम्पत्करी-समारूढ-सिन्धुर-व्रज-सेविता ।
अश्वारूढाधिष्ठिताश्व-कोटि-कोटिभिरावृता ॥ २५॥
Served by a multitude of elephants mounted by the goddess Sampatkari, and surrounded by tens of millions of horses mounted by the goddess Ashvarudha.
चक्रराज-रथारूढ-सर्वायुध-परिष्कृता ।
गेयचक्र-रथारूढ-मन्त्रिणी-परिसेविता ॥ २६॥
Mounted on the Chakra-raja chariot (the supreme chariot) and adorned with all weapons, served by Mantrini (Shyamala Devi) who is mounted on the Geyachakra chariot.
किरिचक्र-रथारूढ-दण्डनाथा-पुरस्कृता ।
ज्वाला-मालिनिकाक्षिप्त-वह्निप्राकार-मध्यगा ॥ २७॥
Preceded by Dandanatha (Varahi Devi) who is mounted on the Kirichakra chariot, and staying within the rampart of fire created by Jvalamalinika.
भण्डसैन्य-वधोद्युक्त-शक्ति-विक्रम-हर्षिता ।
नित्या-पराक्रमाटोप-निरीक्षण-समुत्सुका ॥ २८॥
Rejoicing at the valor of the Shaktis who are intent on slaying the army of Bhanda, and eager to witness the powerful display of the Nityas (the eternal goddesses).
भण्डपुत्र-वधोद्युक्त-बाला-विक्रम-नन्दिता ।
मन्त्रिण्यम्बा-विरचित-विषङ्ग-वध-तोषिता ॥ २९॥
Delighted by the valor of Bala (Devi) who is ready to slay the sons of Bhanda, and pleased by the slaying of Vishanga (a demon general) accomplished by Mother Mantrini.
विशुक्र-प्राणहरण-वाराही-वीर्य-नन्दिता ।
कामेश्वर-मुखालोक-कल्पित-श्रीगणेश्वरा ॥ ३०॥
Rejoicing at the heroism of Varahi who took the life of Vishukra, and having created the Sri Ganesha (by the power of her will) simply by a glance at the face of Kameshvara.
महागणेश-निर्भिन्न-विघ्नयन्त्र-प्रहर्षिता ।
भण्डासुरेन्द्र-निर्मुक्त-शस्त्र-प्रत्यस्त्र-वर्षिणी ॥ ३१॥
Greatly pleased at the destruction of the obstacle-creating Yantra (magical device) by Mahaganesha, and raining down weapons and counter-weapons against those released by the king of demons, Bhandasura.
कराङ्गुलि-नखोत्पन्न-नारायण-दशाकृतिः ।
महा-पाशुपतास्त्राग्नि-निर्दग्धासुर-सैनिका ॥ ३२॥
She from whose finger-nails the ten incarnations of Narayana (Vishnu) manifested, and who burned the demon army with the fire of the great Pashupata weapon.
कामेश्वरास्त्र-निर्दग्ध-सभण्डासुर-शून्यका ।
ब्रह्मोपेन्द्र-महेन्द्रादि-देव-संस्तुत-वैभवा ॥ ३३॥
By whom Bhandasura and his city (Shunyaka) were burned down by the Kameshvara-astra (the weapon of Shiva), and whose glory is praised by Brahma, Vishnu (Upendra), and Indra.
हर-नेत्राग्नि-संदग्ध-काम-सञ्जीवनौषधिः ।
श्रीमद्वाग्भव-कूटैक-स्वरूप-मुख-पङ्कजा ॥ ३४॥
She who is the life-restoring herb for Manmatha (Kamadeva) who was burned by the fire from Shiva's eye, and whose lotus-like face is the embodiment of the Vagbhava-kuta (the first part of the Panchadashakshari mantra).
कण्ठाधः-कटि-पर्यन्त-मध्यकूट-स्वरूपिणी ।
शक्ति-कूटैकतापन्न-कट्यधोभाग-धारिणी ॥ ३५॥
Whose middle portion (from neck to waist) is the embodiment of the Madhya-kuta, and who sustains the lower part of the body which is unified with the Shakti-kuta.
मूल-मन्त्रात्मिका मूलकूटत्रय-कलेवरा ।
कुलामृतैक-रसिका कुलसंकेत-पालिनी ॥ ३६॥
She who is the soul of the Mula-mantra (root mantra) and whose body consists of the three root-kutas (the three parts of the mantra), who relishes the nectar of the Kula (lineage/path) and protects the secret symbols of the Kula.
कुलाङ्गना कुलान्तस्था कौलिनी कुलयोगिनी ।
अकुला समयान्तस्था समयाचार-तत्परा ॥ ३७॥
She who is the Kula-angana (the divine lady of the lineage), residing within the Kula, the follower of the Kaula path, the Kula-yogini, the Akula (transcending the lineage), residing within the Samaya (tradition), and devoted to the Samaya-achara (the traditional path).
मूलाधारैक-निलया ब्रह्मग्रन्थि-विभेदिनी ।
मणि-पूरान्तरुदिता विष्णुग्रन्थि-विभेदिनी ॥ ३८॥
Residing in the Mūlādhāra (the root chakra) and the piercer of the Brahma-granthi (the knot of Brahma); appearing within the Maṇipūra (the navel chakra) and the piercer of the Viṣṇu-granthi (the knot of Viṣṇu).
आज्ञा-चक्रान्तरालस्था रुद्रग्रन्थि-विभेदिनी ।
सहस्राराम्बुजारूढा सुधा-साराभिवर्षिणी ॥ ३९॥
Residing in the space between the Ājñā-cakras (the eyebrow center) and the piercer of the Rudra-granthi (the knot of Rudra); ascended upon the thousand-petalled lotus (Sahasrāra) and showering the essence of nectar.
तडिल्लता-समरुचिः षट्चक्रोपरि-संस्थिता ।
महासक्तिः कुण्डलिनी बिसतन्तु-तनीयसी ॥ ४०॥
Radiant like a streak of lightning, situated above the six chakras; She is the great power, the Kuṇḍalinī, as slender as a lotus fiber.
भवानी भावनागम्या भवारण्य-कुठारिका ।
भद्रप्रिया भद्रमूर्तिर्भक्त-सौभाग्यदायिनी ॥ ४१॥
She is Bhavānī (consort of Bhava/Shiva), attainable through contemplation, and the axe that cuts down the forest of worldly existence; She is fond of auspiciousness, is of an auspicious form, and is the giver of good fortune to Her devotees.
भक्तिप्रिया भक्तिगम्या भक्तिवश्या भयापहा ।
शाम्भवी शारदाराध्या शर्वाणी शर्मदायिनी ॥ ४२॥
Fond of devotion, attainable by devotion, controlled by devotion, and the remover of fear; She is Śāmbhavī (the consort of Śambhu), worshipped by Sarasvatī, Śarvāṇī (the consort of Śarva), and the giver of bliss.
शाङ्करी श्रीकरी साध्वी शरच्चन्द्र-निभानना ।
शातोदरी शान्तिमती निराधारा निरञ्जना ॥ ४३॥
She who brings auspiciousness, She who grants prosperity, the virtuous one, whose face resembles the autumn moon; She is slender-waisted, peace-embodied, without any support (as She is the support of all), and stainless/pure.
निर्लेपा निर्मला नित्या निराकारा निराकुला ।
निर्गुणा निष्कला शान्ता निष्कामा निरुपप्लवा ॥ ४४॥
Untainted, immaculate, eternal, formless, and untroubled; devoid of attributes (Nirguṇa), indivisible, peaceful, desireless, and without calamity.
नित्यमुक्ता निर्विकारा निष्प्रपञ्चा निराश्रया ।
नित्यशुद्धा नित्यबुद्धा निरवद्या निरन्तरा ॥ ४५॥
Ever-liberated, changeless, beyond the phenomenal world, and without any dependence; ever-pure, ever-awakened/enlightened, faultless, and omnipresent.
निष्कारणा निष्कलङ्का निरुपाधिर्निरीश्वरा ।
नीरागा रागमथनी निर्मदा मदनाशिनी ॥ ४६॥
Without cause, stainless/blemishless, without limitations/adjuncts, and without any higher ruler (as She is supreme); devoid of passion, the crusher of passion, free from pride, and the destroyer of ego/infatuation.
निश्चिन्ता निरहंकारा निर्मोहा मोहनाशिनी ।
निर्ममा ममताहन्त्री निष्पापा पापनाशिनी ॥ ४७॥
Free from anxiety, devoid of ego, free from delusion, and the destroyer of delusion; free from the sense of "mine," the slayer of possessiveness, sinless, and the destroyer of sin.
निष्क्रोधा क्रोधशमनी निर्लोभा लोभनाशिनी ।
निःसंशया संशयघ्नी निर्भवा भवनाशिनी ॥ ४८॥
Free from anger, the pacifier of anger, free from greed, and the destroyer of greed; free from doubt, the dispeller of doubt, beyond birth, and the destroyer of the cycle of birth and death.
निर्विकल्पा निराबाधा निर्भेदा भेदनाशिनी ।
निर्नाशा मृत्युमथनी निष्क्रिया निष्परिग्रहा ॥ ४९॥
Free from duality/mental concepts, without obstruction, without division, and the destroyer of duality; deathless, the crusher of death, beyond action, and free from any possessiveness/attachments.
निस्तुला नीलचिकुरा निरपाया निरत्यया ।
दुर्लभा दुर्गमा दुर्गा दुःखहन्त्री सुखप्रदा ॥ ५०॥
Incomparable, with dark hair, free from peril, and beyond all dangers; difficult to attain, difficult to approach, the invulnerable Durgā, the remover of sorrow, and the giver of happiness.
दुष्टदूरा दुराचार-शमनी दोषवर्जिता ।
सर्वज्ञा सान्द्रकरुणा समानाधिक-वर्जिता ॥ ५१॥
Far from the wicked, the pacifier of evil conduct, and devoid of any flaws; omniscient, deeply compassionate, and one who has no equal or superior.
सर्वशक्तिमयी सर्व-मङ्गला सद्गतिप्रदा ।
सर्वेश्वरी सर्वमयी सर्वमन्त्र-स्वरूपिणी ॥ ५२॥
The embodiment of all power, the source of all auspiciousness, and the bestower of the ultimate path (liberation); the Supreme Goddess, the embodiment of all, and the very form of all mantras.
सर्व-यन्त्रात्मिका सर्व-तन्त्ररूपा मनोन्मनी ।
माहेश्वरी महादेवी महालक्ष्मीर्मृडप्रिया ॥ ५३॥
(53) She is the soul of all Yantras (mystical diagrams), the embodiment of all Tantras, and the state of Manonmani (the state where the mind transcends itself). She is the Great Goddess (Maheshvari), the Supreme Deity (Mahadevi), the Great Goddess of Wealth (Mahalakshmi), and the beloved of Lord Shiva (Mridapriya).
महारूपा महापूज्या महापातक-नाशिनी ।
महामाया महासत्त्वा महाशक्तिर्महारतिः ॥ ५४॥
(54) She is of the Great Form, worthy of the greatest worship, the destroyer of all great sins, the Great Illusion (Mahamaya), the possessor of infinite existence (Mahasattva), the Great Power (Mahashakti), and the Supreme Bliss (Maharati).
महाभोगा महैश्वर्या महावीर्या महाबला ।
महाबुद्धिर्महासिद्धिर्महायोगेश्वरेश्वरी ॥ ५५॥
(55) She is the possessor of great enjoyment, great sovereignty, great potency, and great strength. She is Great Wisdom, the Great Achievement (Mahasiddhi), and the Empress of the great lords of Yoga.
महातन्त्रा महामन्त्रा महायन्त्रा महासना ।
महायाग-क्रमाराध्या महाभैरव-पूजिता ॥ ५६॥
(56) She is the Great Tantra, the Great Mantra, the Great Yantra, and the Great Seat. She is worshipped through the ritualistic sequences of the Great Yaga (sacrifice) and is worshipped by the Great Bhairava.
महेश्वर-महाकल्प-महाताण्डव-साक्षिणी ।
महाकामेश-महिषी महात्रिपुर-सुन्दरी ॥ ५७॥
(57) She is the witness to the Great Dissolution (Mahakalpa) and the Great Cosmic Dance (Mahatandava) of the Great Lord (Maheshvara). She is the Empress of the Great Kameshvara and the Great Tripura Sundari.
चतुःषष्ट्युपचाराढ्या चतुःषष्टिकलामयी ।
महाचतुः-षष्टिकोटि-योगिनी-गणसेविता ॥ ५8॥
(58) She is adorned with sixty-four modes of service (upacharas) and is the embodiment of the sixty-four arts. She is attended upon by the hosts of sixty-four crore (640 million) Yoginis.
मनुविद्या चन्द्रविद्या चन्द्रमण्डल-मध्यगा ।
चारुरूपा चारुहासा चारुचन्द्र-कलाधरा ॥ ५९॥
(59) She is the knowledge of Manu, the knowledge of the Moon, and she abides in the center of the lunar orb. She has a beautiful form, a beautiful smile, and wears the digit of the beautiful moon.
चराचर-जगन्नाथा चक्रराज-निकेतना ।
पार्वती पद्मनयना पद्मराग-समप्रभा ॥ ६०॥
(60) She is the ruler of the moving and non-moving universe and dwells in the Chakra-Raja (the Sri Chakra). She is Parvati (daughter of the mountain), lotus-eyed, and possesses the radiance of a ruby.
पञ्च-प्रेतासनासीना पञ्चब्रह्म-स्वरूपिणी ।
चिन्मयी परमानन्दा विज्ञान-घनरूपिणी ॥ ६१॥
(61) She is seated on the seat of the five corpses (Pancha-Preta). She is the embodiment of the five Brahma-principles. She is pure consciousness (Chinmayi), supreme bliss, and the embodiment of condensed knowledge.
ध्यान-ध्यातृ-ध्येयरूपा धर्माधर्म-विवर्जिता ।
विश्वरूपा जागरिणी स्वपन्ती तैजसात्मिका ॥ ६२॥
(62) She is the form of meditation, the meditator, and the object of meditation. She is devoid of both virtue and sin (transcending dualities). She is the form of the universe, the awakening consciousness, the dreaming consciousness, and the subtle-bodied consciousness (Taijasa).
सुप्ता प्राज्ञात्मिका तुर्या सर्वावस्था-विवर्जिता ।
सृष्टिकर्त्री ब्रह्मरूपा गोप्त्री गोविन्दरूपिणी ॥ ६३॥
(63) She is the deep-sleep consciousness (Sushupti), the consciousness of the wise (Prajna), the fourth state (Turiya), and she is devoid of all conditioned states. She is the creator (in the form of Brahma), the protector (in the form of Govinda/Vishnu).
संहारिणी रुद्ररूपा तिरोधान-करीश्वरी ।
सदाशिवाऽनुग्रहदा पञ्चकृत्य-परायणा ॥ ६४॥
(64) She is the destroyer (in the form of Rudra), the one who hides the truth (concealment/Tirodhana), the Ever-auspicious (Sadashiva) who grants grace (Anugraha). She is dedicated to the five cosmic acts.
भानुमण्डल-मध्यस्था भैरवी भगमालिनी ।
पद्मासना भगवती पद्मनाभ-सहोदरी ॥ ६५॥
(65) She resides in the center of the solar orb. She is Bhairavi, the one who possesses all manifestations (Bhagamalini). She is seated on a lotus, she is the Divine Mother (Bhagavati), and the sister of Padmanabha (Vishnu).
उन्मेष-निमिषोत्पन्न-विपन्न-भुवनावली ।
सहस्र-शीर्षवदना सहस्राक्षी सहस्रपात् ॥ ६६॥
(66) Through the opening and closing of Her eyes, the series of worlds are created and destroyed. She has a thousand heads, a thousand faces, a thousand eyes, and a thousand feet.
आब्रह्म-कीट-जननी वर्णाश्रम-विधायिनी ।
निजाज्ञारूप-निगमा पुण्यापुण्य-फलप्रदा ॥ ६७॥
(67) She is the mother of all beings from Brahma down to the worm. She is the ordainer of the Varnas (social orders) and Ashramas (stages of life). She is the Vedas that embody her own commands, and she is the giver of the fruits of both virtuous and sinful actions.
श्रुति-सीमन्त-सिन्दूरी-कृत-पादाब्ज-धूलिका ।
सकलागम-सन्दोह-शुक्ति-सम्पुट-मौक्तिका ॥ ६८॥

रञ्जनी रमणी रस्या रणत्किङ्किणि-मेखला ॥ ७१॥
She who is worshipped by the King of Kings (Kubera), the Empress, the beautiful one, with lotus-like eyes. She who delights the mind, who is enchanting, whose nature is the essence of joy, and who wears a girdle of tinkling bells.
रमा राकेन्दुवदना रतिरूपा रतिप्रिया ।
रक्षाकरी राक्षसघ्नी रामा रमणलम्पटा ॥ ७२॥
She is Lakshmi (Rama), with a face like the full moon, the embodiment of love (Rati), and beloved of the God of Love. She is the protectress, the destroyer of demons, the beautiful one, and the one immersed in divine play (Ramana).
काम्या कामकलारूपा कदम्ब-कुसुम-प्रिया ।
कल्याणी जगतीकन्दा करुणा-रस-सागरा ॥ ७३॥
She who is the object of all desires, the embodiment of Kama-kala, fond of Kadamba flowers. She is the auspicious one, the root cause of the world, and an ocean of the nectar of compassion.
कलावती कलालापा कान्ता कादम्बरीप्रिया ।
वरदा वामनयना वारुणी-मद-विह्वला ॥ ७४॥
She who is the source of all arts (Kala), whose speech is melodious, the radiant one, fond of the Kadambari wine. She who grants boons, has beautiful eyes, and is intoxicated by the divine nectar (Varuni).
विश्वाधिका वेदवेद्या विन्ध्याचल-निवासिनी ।
विधात्री वेदजननी विष्णुमाया विलासिनी ॥ ७५॥
She who is beyond the universe, known through the Vedas, the one who dwells on the Vindhya mountains. She is the creator, the mother of the Vedas, the delusion-creating power of Vishnu (Maya), and the one who sports in the creation.
क्षेत्रस्वरूपा क्षेत्रेशी क्षेत्र-क्षेत्रज्ञ-पालिनी ।

She is the form of the Kshetra (body/field), the mistress of the Kshetra, the protector of both the field and the knower of the field. She is free from growth and decay, and is worshipped by the Kshetrpalas (guardians of the fields).
विजया विमला वन्द्या वन्दारु-जन-वत्सला ।
वाग्वादिनी वामकेशी वह्निमण्डल-वासिनी ॥ ७७॥
She is the victorious one, the pure one, the one worthy of praise, and affectionate toward those who prostrate before her. She is the one who inspires speech, has beautiful hair, and dwells in the circle of fire.
भक्तिमत्-कल्पलतिका पशुपाश-विमोचिनी ।
संहृताशेष-पाषण्डा सदाचार-प्रवर्तिका ॥ ७८॥
She who is the wish-fulfilling creeper for those who are devoted to her, and the one who liberates living beings (Pashus) from their bonds (Pashas). She destroys all heresy and promotes righteous conduct.
तापत्रयाग्नि-सन्तप्त-समाह्लादन-चन्द्रिका ।
तरुणी तापसाराध्या तनुमध्या तमोऽपहा ॥ ७९॥
She who is the moonlight that cools those scorched by the fire of the three types of miseries (physical, mental, and external). She is ever-youthful, worshipped by ascetics, possesses a slender waist, and removes the darkness of ignorance.
चितिस्तत्पद-लक्ष्यार्था चिदेकरस-रूपिणी ।
स्वात्मानन्द-लवीभूत-ब्रह्माद्यानन्द-सन्ततिः ॥ ८०॥
She is pure consciousness, the implied meaning of the term "Tat" (That), the embodiment of the singular essence of consciousness. From a tiny fraction of her self-bliss, the happiness of beings like Brahma and others is derived.
परा प्रत्यक्चितीरूपा पश्यन्ती परदेवता ।
मध्यमा वैखरीरूपा भक्त-मानस-हंसिका ॥ ८१॥
She is the Supreme, the inner consciousness, the one who perceives (Pashyanti), the supreme deity. She takes the forms of Madhyama and Vaikhari (stages of speech), and is the swan that swims in the lake of the devotee's mind.
कामेश्वर-प्राणनाडी कृतज्ञा कामपूजिता ।
शृङ्गार-रस-सम्पूर्णा जया जालन्धर-स्थिता ॥ ८२॥
She is the life-breath of Kameshwara (Shiva), the one who acknowledges gratitude, worshipped by the God of Love. She is filled with the essence of love (Shringara), the embodiment of victory, and resides in the Jalandhara Pitha.
ओड्याणपीठ-निलया बिन्दु-मण्डलवासिनी ।
रहोयाग-क्रमाराध्या रहस्तर्पण-तर्पिता ॥ ८३॥
She who resides in the Oddyana Peetha (the sacred seat of Oddiyana), and dwells in the Bindu Mandala (the central point of the Sri Chakra). She who is worshipped through secret sacrificial rituals (Rahoyaga), and is gratified by secret offerings (Rahastarpana).

षडङ्गदेवता-युक्ता षाड्गुण्य-परिपूरिता ॥ ८४॥
She who grants grace immediately, who is the witness of the entire universe, and yet is devoid of any witness herself. She who is associated with the six auxiliary deities (Sadanga Devatas), and is completely filled with the six divine attributes (Bhaga).
नित्यक्लिन्ना निरुपमा निर्वाण-सुख-दायिनी ।
नित्या-षोडशिका-रूपा श्रीकण्ठार्ध-शरीरिणी ॥ ८५॥
She who is ever-compassionate (Nityaklinna), incomparable, and the bestower of the bliss of liberation (Nirvana). She who is the embodiment of the sixteen Nitya goddesses, and who shares half the body of Lord Shiva (Srikantha).
प्रभावती प्रभारूपा प्रसिद्धा परमेश्वरी ।
मूलप्रकृतिरव्यक्ता व्यक्ताव्यक्त-स्वरूपिणी ॥ ८६॥
She who is radiant, the very form of light, the famous one, and the Supreme Goddess (Parameshwari). She is the root nature (Mula Prakriti) of the universe, the unmanifest (Avyakta), and the one who exists in both manifest and unmanifest forms.
व्यापिनी विविधाकारा विद्याविद्या-स्वरूपिणी ।
महाकामेश-नयन-कुमुदाह्लाद-कौमुदी ॥ ८७॥
She who is all-pervading, of various forms, and the embodiment of both knowledge (Vidya) and ignorance (Avidya). She who is the moonlight that delights the lily-like eyes of the Great Lord Kameshwara.
भक्त-हार्द-तमोभेद-भानुमद्भानु-सन्ततिः ।
शिवदूती शिवाराध्या शिवमूर्तिः शिवङ्करी ॥ ८८॥
She who is the succession of suns that destroys the darkness in the hearts of her devotees. She who sent Shiva as her messenger (Shivaduti), is worshipped by Shiva, is the embodiment of Shiva, and is the giver of auspiciousness.
शिवप्रिया शिवपरा शिष्टेष्टा शिष्टपूजिता ।
अप्रमेया स्वप्रकाशा मनोवाचामगोचरा ॥ ८९॥
She who is beloved of Shiva, devoted to Shiva, desired by the righteous, and worshipped by the virtuous. She who is immeasurable, self-luminous, and beyond the reach of mind and speech.
चिच्छक्तिश् चेतनारूपा जडशक्तिर्जडात्मिका ।
गायत्री व्याहृतिः सन्ध्या द्विजवृन्द-निषेविता ॥ ९०॥
She who is the power of consciousness (Chit-Shakti), the form of consciousness itself, the power behind inert matter, and the essence of all inert objects. She is the Gayatri mantra, the sacred Vyahritis, the Sandhya rituals, and is served by the host of the twice-born (Brahmins/the enlightened).
तत्त्वासना तत्त्वमयी पञ्च-कोशान्तर-स्थिता ।
निःसीम-महिमा नित्य-यौवना मदशालिनी ॥ ९१॥
She whose seat is the ultimate reality (Tattva), who is the essence of all reality, and who resides within the five sheaths (Pancha Koshas) of the human body. She whose greatness is boundless, who is eternally youthful, and full of divine intoxication.
मदघूर्णित-रक्ताक्षी मदपाटल-गण्डभूः ।
चन्दन-द्रव-दिग्धाङ्गी चाम्पेय-कुसुम-प्रिया ॥ ९२॥
She whose eyes are reddened by divine intoxication, and whose cheeks are flushed with a pale pink glow. Her body is anointed with sandal paste, and she is fond of the Champaka flowers.
कुशला कोमलाकारा कुरुकुल्ला कुलेश्वरी ।
कुलकुण्डालया कौल-मार्ग-तत्पर-सेविता ॥ ९३॥
She who is expert and skilled, of a delicate and beautiful form, known as Kurukulla, and the mistress of the Kula path. She who dwells in the Kula-Kundalini and is served by those devoted to the Kaula path.
कुमार-गणनाथाम्बा तुष्टिः पुष्टिर्मतिर्धृतिः ।
शान्तिः स्वस्तिमती कान्तिर्नन्दिनी विघ्ननाशिनी ॥ ९४॥
She who is the mother of Kumara (Kartikeya) and Ganesha. She is the personification of contentment (Tushti), nourishment (Pushti), intelligence (Mati), patience (Dhriti), peace (Shanti), well-being (Swastimati), splendor (Kanti), delight (Nandini), and the destroyer of obstacles.
तेजोवती त्रिनयना लोलाक्षी-कामरूपिणी ।
मालिनी हंसिनी माता मलयाचल-वासिनी ॥ ९५॥
She who is full of brilliance, the three-eyed one, the one with moving eyes, and the one who can assume any form at will. She who wears a garland, who is the swan-like soul, the universal mother, and who dwells on the Malaya mountains.
सुमुखी नलिनी सुभ्रूः शोभना सुरनायिका ।
कालकण्ठी कान्तिमती क्षोभिणी सूक्ष्मरूपिणी ॥ ९६॥
She who has a beautiful face, who is like a lotus, has beautiful eyebrows, is glorious, and the leader of the gods. She is the consort of the dark-throated one (Shiva/Kalakanthi), is full of luster, the one who agitates (to create), and of a subtle form.
वज्रेश्वरी वामदेवी वयोऽवस्था-विवर्जिता ।
सिद्धेश्वरी सिद्धविद्या सिद्धमाता यशस्विनी ॥ ९७॥
She who is the queen of Vajra (Vajreshwari), the goddess of the left path (Vamadevi), and is devoid of the limitations of age or states of life. She is the goddess of accomplishments (Siddheshwari), the knowledge that grants success (Siddhavidya), the mother of all Siddhas, and the glorious one.
विशुद्धिचक्र-निलयाऽऽरक्तवर्णा त्रिलोचना ।
खट्वाङ्गादि-प्रहरणा वदनैक-समन्विता ॥ ९८॥
(She who) resides in the Vishuddhi Chakra, who is of bright red color, who has three eyes, who bears weapons like the Khatvanga (a club with a skull at the end), and who has one face.
पायसान्नप्रिया त्वक्स्था पशुलोक-भयङ्करी ।
अमृतादि-महाशक्ति-संवृता डाकिनीश्वरी ॥ ९९॥
(She who) is fond of Payasam (rice pudding), resides in the skin, is terrifying to the ignorant (Pashu), is surrounded by great Shaktis like Amrita, and is the presiding deity Dakini.
अनाहताब्ज-निलया श्यामाभा वदनद्वया ।

महावीरेन्द्र-वरदा राकिण्यम्बा-स्वरूपिणी ॥ १०१॥
(She who) is surrounded by a host of Shaktis like Kalaratri, who is fond of ghee-mixed rice, who bestows boons upon great heroic devotees, and who is the embodiment of Rakini.
मणिपूराब्ज-निलया वदनत्रय-संयुता ।
वज्रादिकायुधोपेता डामर्यादिभिरावृता ॥ १०२॥
(She who) resides in the Manipura lotus, who is endowed with three faces, who is equipped with weapons like the Vajra, and who is surrounded by deities like Damari.
रक्तवर्णा मांसनिष्ठा गुडान्न-प्रीत-मानसा ।
समस्तभक्त-सुखदा लाकिन्यम्बा-स्वरूपिणी ॥ १०३॥
(She who) is of red color, who resides in the flesh (Dhatu), whose mind is pleased with jaggery-rice, who grants happiness to all devotees, and who is the embodiment of Lakini.
स्वाधिष्ठानाम्बुज-गता चतुर्वक्त्र-मनोहरा ।
शूलाद्यायुध-सम्पन्ना पीतवर्णाऽतिगर्विता ॥ १०४॥
(She who) resides in the Svadhishthana lotus, who is captivating with four faces, who is endowed with weapons like the spear (Shula), who is yellow in color, and who is very proud (or majestic).
मेदोनिष्ठा मधुप्रीता बन्धिन्यादि-समन्विता ।
दध्यन्नासक्त-हृदया काकिनी-रूप-धारिणी ॥ १०५॥
(She who) resides in the fat (Dhatu), who is fond of honey, who is accompanied by Bandhini and others, whose heart is attached to curd-rice, and who assumes the form of Kakini.
मूलाधाराम्बुजारूढा पञ्च-वक्त्राऽस्थि-संस्थिता ।
अङ्कुशादि-प्रहरणा वरदादि-निषेविता ॥ १०६॥
(She who) is seated in the Muladhara lotus, who has five faces, who resides in the bones (Dhatu), who holds weapons like the ankusha (goad), and who is served by the Shaktis of boons (Varada).
मुद्गौदनासक्त-चित्ता साकिन्यम्बा-स्वरूपिणी ।
आज्ञा-चक्राब्ज-निलया शुक्लवर्णा षडानना ॥ १०७॥
(She who) has a mind attached to green-gram rice, who is the embodiment of Sakini, who resides in the Ajna-Chakra lotus, who is of white color, and who has six faces.
मज्जासंस्था हंसवती-मुख्य-शक्ति-समन्विता ।
हरिद्रान्नैक-रसिका हाकिनी-रूप-धारिणी ॥ १०८॥
(She who) resides in the marrow (Dhatu), who is accompanied by Shaktis like Hamsavati, who delights in turmeric-rice, and who assumes the form of Hakini.
सहस्रदल-पद्मस्था सर्व-वर्णोप-शोभिता ।
सर्वायुधधरा शुक्ल-संस्थिता सर्वतोमुखी ॥ १०९॥
(She who) resides in the thousand-petaled lotus (Sahasrara), who is adorned with all colors, who holds all weapons, who resides in the Semen/Essence (Shukla), and who faces all directions.
सर्वौदन-प्रीतचित्ता याकिन्यम्बा-स्वरूपिणी ।
स्वाहा स्वधाऽमतिर्मेधा श्रुतिः स्मृतिरनुत्तमा ॥ ११०॥
(She who) is pleased with all kinds of rice, who is the embodiment of Yakini, who is the power of Svaha and Svadha, who is intelligence, wisdom, the Vedas (Shruti), and the scriptural tradition (Smriti), and who is the unsurpassed one.
पुण्यकीर्तिः पुण्यलभ्या पुण्यश्रवण-कीर्तना ।
पुलोमजार्चिता बन्ध-मोचनी बन्धुरालका ॥ १११॥
(She who) is of holy fame, who is attained by merit, whose hearing and chanting are meritorious, who is worshipped by Indrani (Pulomaja), who is the liberator from bondage, and who has beautiful curly hair.
विमर्शरूपिणी विद्या वियदादि-जगत्प्रसूः ।
सर्वव्याधि-प्रशमनी सर्वमृत्यु-निवारिणी ॥ ११२॥
(She who) is the form of reflective consciousness (Vimarsha), who is the knowledge, who is the creator of the universe consisting of space and other elements, who is the healer of all diseases, and who is the preventer of all deaths.
अग्रगण्याऽचिन्त्यरूपा कलिकल्मष-नाशिनी ।
कात्यायनी कालहन्त्री कमलाक्ष-निषेविता ॥ ११३॥
She who is the foremost, whose form is beyond thought, who destroys the sins of the Kali Age. She is Katyayani (daughter of Sage Katyayana), the destroyer of Time (Death), and worshipped by Lord Vishnu (whose eyes are like lotus petals).
ताम्बूल-पूरित-मुखी दाडिमी-कुसुम-प्रभा ।
मृगाक्षी मोहिनी मुख्या मृडानी मित्ररूपिणी ॥ ११४॥
She whose mouth is filled with betel leaves (Tambula), who has the radiance of a pomegranate flower. She has eyes like a deer (fawn-eyed), is the enchantress (Mohini), the foremost one, the consort of Mrida (Shiva), and the embodiment of friendship.
नित्यतृप्ता भक्तनिधिर्नियन्त्री निखिलेश्वरी ।
मैत्र्यादि-वासनालभ्या महाप्रलय-साक्षिणी ॥ ११५॥
She who is eternally satisfied, the treasure for her devotees, the controller (regulator of the universe), the Goddess of everything (Nikhileshwari). She is attainable through virtues like friendliness (Maitri), and is the witness of the Great Dissolution (Mahapralaya).
परा शक्तिः परा निष्ठा प्रज्ञानघन-रूपिणी ।
माध्वीपानालसा मत्ता मातृका-वर्ण-रूपिणी ॥ ११६॥
She is the Supreme Power (Para Shakti), the highest goal (Para Nishtha), and the embodiment of solidified consciousness (Prajnana-ghana). She is intoxicated with the nectar of bliss (Madhavi), and her form is that of the letters of the alphabet (Matrika).
महाकैलास-निलया मृणाल-मृदु-दोर्लता ।
महनीया दयामूर्तिर्महासाम्राज्य-शालिनी ॥ ११७॥
She who resides on the great Mount Kailasa, whose arms are as delicate as lotus stalks. She is worthy of great worship, the embodiment of compassion, and the possessor of the Great Empire (of the universe).
आत्मविद्या महाविद्या श्रीविद्या कामसेविता ।
श्री-षोडशाक्षरी-विद्या त्रिकूटा कामकोटिका ॥ ११८॥
She is Atma-Vidya (knowledge of the Self), Maha-Vidya (the great knowledge), Sri-Vidya, and is worshipped by Manmatha (Kamadeva). She is the sixteen-lettered mantra (Shodakshari), the Trikuta (the three peaks of her Yantra), and the one who resides in Kamakoti.
कटाक्ष-किङ्करी-भूत-कमला-कोटि-सेविता ।
शिरःस्थिता चन्द्रनिभा भालस्थेन्द्र-धनुःप्रभा ॥ ११९॥
She who is served by millions of Lakshmis who become her servants just by a mere side-glance. She resides in the head, shining like the moon, and has the radiance of a rainbow on her forehead.
हृदयस्था रविप्रख्या त्रिकोणान्तर-दीपिका ।
दाक्षायणी दैत्यहन्त्री दक्षयज्ञ-विनाशिनी ॥ १२०॥
She resides in the heart, shining like the sun, and is the lamp glowing within the triangular Yantra (in the heart). She is the daughter of Daksha, the destroyer of demons, and the one who destroyed the sacrifice of Daksha.
दरान्दोलित-दीर्घाक्षी दर-हासोज्ज्वलन्-मुखी ।
गुरुमूर्तिर्गुणनिधिर्गोमाता गुहजन्मभू ॥ १२१॥
She who has long, slightly tremulous eyes, and a face brightened by a gentle smile. She is the embodiment of the Guru, the treasure of virtues, the Mother of the world (Gomata), and the birthplace of Lord Guha (Kartikeya).
देवेशी दण्डनीतिस्था दहराकाश-रूपिणी ।
प्रतिपन्मुख्य-राकान्त-तिथि-मण्डल-पूजिता ॥ १२२॥
She is the Goddess of the Devas, who stands by the code of justice (Dandaniti), and whose form is the ether within the heart (Daharakaasha). She is worshipped throughout the lunar cycle, from the first day (Pratipada) to the full moon (Raka).
कलात्मिका कलानाथा काव्यालाप-विनोदिनी ।
सचामर-रमा-वाणी-सव्य-दक्षिण-सेविता ॥ १२३॥
She is the soul of the arts (Kala), the Lord of the arts, and she delights in poetic expressions. She is served on the left and right sides by Goddesses Rama (Lakshmi) and Vani (Saraswati) holding whisks (Chamara).
आदिशक्तिरमेयाऽऽत्मा परमा पावनाकृतिः ।
अनेककोटि-ब्रह्माण्ड-जननी दिव्यविग्रहा ॥ १२४॥
She is the Primordial Power (Adi Shakti), the immeasurable Self, the Supreme One, and of pure form. She is the mother of countless millions of universes, and possesses a divine body.
क्लींकारी केवला गुह्या कैवल्य-पददायिनी ।
त्रिपुरा त्रिजगद्वन्द्या त्रिमूर्तिस्त्रिदशेश्वरी ॥ १२५॥
She is the essence of the 'Klim' mantra (Klingkara), the Absolute, the Mysterious, and the giver of the state of liberation (Kaivalya). She is Tripura (residing in the three worlds/states), worshipped by the three worlds, the Trinity, and the Queen of the Devas.
त्र्यक्षरी दिव्य-गन्धाढ्या सिन्दूर-तिलकाञ्चिता ।
उमा शैलेन्द्रतनया गौरी गन्धर्व-सेविता ॥ १२६॥
She who is the three-lettered mantra, rich with divine fragrance, and adorned with a vermilion mark (Tilaka) on her forehead. She is Uma, the daughter of the King of Mountains (Himavan), Gauri, and is worshipped by the Gandharvas.

ध्यानगम्याऽपरिच्छेद्या ज्ञानदा ज्ञानविग्रहा ॥ १२७॥

She who is known by all the Upanishads (Vedanta), whose form is Truth and Bliss. She who was worshipped by Lopamudra, and who creates the multitude of universes through her mere play (Lila).
अदृश्या दृश्यरहिता विज्ञात्री वेद्यवर्जिता ।
योगिनी योगदा योग्या योगानन्दा युगन्धरा ॥ १२९॥

She who grants food, who grants wealth, who is ancient, and the embodiment of the unity of the individual soul with Brahman. She is the Great One, the wife of Brahma, the power of Brahman, the bliss of Brahman, and one who is pleased by offerings.
भाषारूपा बृहत्सेना भावाभाव-विवर्जिता ।
सुखाराध्या शुभकरी शोभना सुलभा गतिः ॥ १३३॥
She who is the form of language (speech), the commander of the great army, who is beyond existence and non-existence. She who is easily worshipped, the doer of good, the auspicious one, and the easily attainable goal.
राज-राजेश्वरी राज्य-दायिनी राज्य-वल्लभा ।
राजत्कृपा राजपीठ-निवेशित-निजाश्रिता ॥ १३४॥
The Empress of Kings, the giver of kingdoms, and the beloved of the state. She whose grace shines forth, and who places her devotees upon the royal throne of liberation.
राज्यलक्ष्मीः कोशनाथा चतुरङ्ग-बलेश्वरी ।
साम्राज्य-दायिनी सत्यसन्धा सागरमेखला ॥ १३५॥
The Goddess of royal fortune, the mistress of the treasury, and the commander of the four-fold army. She who grants sovereignty, who is firm in truth, and who is girdled by the oceans.
दीक्षिता दैत्यशमनी सर्वलोक-वशङ्करी ।
सर्वार्थदात्री सावित्री सच्चिदानन्द-रूपिणी ॥ १३६॥
She who is consecrated, the destroyer of demons, and who brings all worlds under her control. She who grants all goals (objectives), the Solar energy (Savitri), and the embodiment of Existence-Consciousness-Bliss (Sat-Chit-Ananda).
देश-कालापरिच्छिन्ना सर्वगा सर्वमोहिनी ।

मिथ्या-जगदधिष्ठाना मुक्तिदा मुक्तिरूपिणी ।
लास्यप्रिया लयकरी लज्जा रम्भादिवन्दिता ॥ १४२॥
She who is the substratum of this illusory world, the giver of liberation, and the very form of liberation. She who loves the Lasya (graceful dance), the one who causes dissolution, the embodiment of modesty (Lajja), and worshipped by celestial damsels like Rambha.
भवदाव-सुधावृष्टिः पापारण्य-दवानला ।
दौर्भाग्य-तूलवातूला जराध्वान्त-रविप्रभा ॥ १४३॥
(143) She is the shower of nectar to the forest fire of worldly existence (Bhavadava). She is the forest fire to the forest of sins (Papāranya). She is the gale that scatters the cotton of misfortune. She is the brilliance of the sun that dispels the darkness of old age.
भाग्याब्धि-चन्द्रिका भक्त-चित्तकेकि-घनाघना ।
रोगपर्वत-दम्भोलिर्मृत्युदारु-कुठारिका ॥ १४४॥
(144) She is the moonlight to the ocean of fortune. She is the dark rain cloud that delights the peacocks of the devotees' hearts. She is the thunderbolt that shatters the mountain of diseases. She is the axe that fells the tree of death.
महेश्वरी महाकाली महाग्रासा महाशना ।
अपर्णा चण्डिका चण्डमुण्डासुर-निषूदिनी ॥ १४५॥
(145) She is the Supreme Goddess (Maheshvari), the Great Time (Mahakali), the Great Devourer, and the Great Consumer (Mahashana). She is Aparna (who did not even eat leaves during penance), Chandika, and the slayer of the demons Chanda and Munda.
क्षराक्षरात्मिका सर्व-लोकेशी विश्वधारिणी ।
त्रिवर्गदात्री सुभगा त्र्यम्बका त्रिगुणात्मिका ॥ १४६॥
(146) She is the essence of both the perishable and the imperishable. She is the Ruler of all worlds and the Supporter of the universe. She is the bestower of the three goals of life (Dharma, Artha, Kama), the fortunate one, the three-eyed one, and the embodiment of the three Gunas (Sattva, Rajas, Tamas).
स्वर्गापवर्गदा शुद्धा जपापुष्प-निभाकृतिः ।
ओजोवती द्युतिधरा यज्ञरूपा प्रियव्रता ॥ १४७॥
(147) She is the giver of heaven and liberation. She is pure and her form resembles the Japa flower (hibiscus). She is full of vitality (Ojas), full of radiance (Dyuti), the embodiment of sacrifice (Yajna), and the lover of vows.
दुराराध्या दुराधर्षा पाटली-कुसुम-प्रिया ।
महती मेरुनिलया मन्दार-कुसुम-प्रिया ॥ १४८॥
(148) She is difficult to worship and difficult to overcome. She is fond of the Patalika (trumpet) flowers. She is great, resides on Mount Meru, and is fond of Mandara flowers.
वीराराध्या विराड्रूपा विरजा विश्वतोमुखी ।
प्रत्यग्रूपा पराकाशा प्राणदा प्राणरूपिणी ॥ १४९॥
(149) She is worshipped by the brave (or the heroic). She is the cosmic form (Viradrupa). She is free from passion (Viraja) and faces all directions. She is the inner consciousness, the supreme space, the giver of life, and the form of life itself.
मार्ताण्ड-भैरवाराध्या मन्त्रिणीन्यस्त-राज्यधूः ।
त्रिपुरेशी जयत्सेना निस्त्रैगुण्या परापरा ॥ १५०॥
(150) She is worshipped by Martanda Bhairava. She has entrusted the burden of the kingdom to her minister (Mantrini). She is the Queen of Tripura, the leader of the victorious army, beyond the three Gunas, and the supreme of the supreme.
सत्य-ज्ञानानन्द-रूपा सामरस्य-परायणा ।
कपर्दिनी कलामाला कामधुक् कामरूपिणी ॥ १५१॥
(151) She is the form of Truth, Consciousness, and Bliss (Sat-Chit-Ananda). She is devoted to the state of perfect harmony. She is the one with matted hair (Kapardini), the garland of arts, the wish-fulfilling cow, and the one who can take any form.
कलानिधिः काव्यकला रसज्ञा रसशेवधिः ।
पुष्टा पुरातना पूज्या पुष्करा पुष्करेक्षणा ॥ १५२॥
(152) She is the treasure house of arts. She is the art of poetry, the knower of essence (Rasa), and the repository of joy. She is well-nourished, ancient, worthy of worship, the lotus, and the one with lotus-like eyes.
परंज्योतिः परंधाम परमाणुः परात्परा ।
पाशहस्ता पाशहन्त्री परमन्त्र-विभेदिनी ॥ १५३॥
(153) She is the Supreme Light, the Supreme Abode, the subtle atom, and the supreme of the supreme. She holds the noose (in her hand), destroys the (bondage of) noose, and shatters the power of hostile mantras.
मूर्ताऽमूर्ताऽनित्यतृप्ता मुनिमानस-हंसिका ।

(154) She is both with form and without form. She is ever-satisfied and is the swan that dwells in the minds of sages. She is bound by truth, the embodiment of truth, the inner dweller of all, and the virtuous one (Sati).
ब्रह्माणी ब्रह्मजननी बहुरूपा बुधार्चिता ।
प्रसवित्री प्रचण्डाऽऽज्ञा प्रतिष्ठा प्रकटाकृतिः ॥ १५५॥
(155) She is the power of Brahma (Brahmani) and the Mother of the Vedas. She has many forms and is worshipped by the wise. She is the generator, the fierce one, the command, the foundation, and the one whose form is manifest.
प्राणेश्वरी प्राणदात्री पञ्चाशत्पीठ-रूपिणी ।
विशृङ्खला विविक्तस्था वीरमाता वियत्प्रसूः ॥ १५६॥
(156) She is the Queen of life, the giver of life, and the embodiment of the fifty sacred seats (Pithas). She is unbound (free), dwells in seclusion, the Mother of heroes, and the source of the heavens (ether).
मुकुन्दा मुक्तिनिलया मूलविग्रह-रूपिणी ।

(157) She is the giver of liberation (Mukunda), the abode of liberation, and the root-form of all deities (Mula-vigraha). She knows the nature of the devotees, destroys the disease of worldly existence (Bhava-roga), and keeps the wheel of existence in motion.
छन्दःसारा शास्त्रसारा मन्त्रसारा तलोदरी ।
उदारकीर्तिरुद्दामवैभवा वर्णरूपिणी ॥ १५८॥

अन्तर्मुख-समाराध्या बहिर्मुख-सुदुर्लभा ॥ १६२॥
She who is unborn, free from decay/destruction, charming/innocent, and easily pleased. She who is worshipped by those whose vision is turned inward, and is extremely difficult to attain for those whose vision is turned outward.
त्रयी त्रिवर्गनिलया त्रिस्था त्रिपुरमालिनी ।
निरामया निरालम्बा स्वात्मारामा सुधासृतिः ॥ १६३॥
She who is the three Vedas (Trayi), the abode of the three goals of life (Dharma, Artha, Kama), who resides in the three states (waking, dreaming, sleeping), and who is the presiding deity of the three cities (Tripura). She who is free from illness, dependent on nothing, delights in her own Self, and is the flow of nectar.
संसारपङ्क-निर्मग्न-समुद्धरण-पण्डिता ।
यज्ञप्रिया यज्ञकर्त्री यजमान-स्वरूपिणी ॥ १६४॥
She who is expert in rescuing those drowned in the mire of worldly existence (Samsara). She who loves sacrifices (Yajna), performs sacrifices, and is the very form of the performer of the sacrifice (Yajamana).
धर्माधारा धनाध्यक्षा धनधान्य-विवर्धिनी ।
विप्रप्रिया विप्ररूपा विश्वभ्रमण-कारिणी ॥ १६५॥
She who is the support of Dharma, the controller of wealth, and the multiplier of wealth and grain. She who is beloved of the learned (Vipras), is the form of the learned, and the cause of the rotation of the universe.

She who consumes the entire universe (at the time of dissolution), who has the luster of coral, who is the energy of Vishnu (Vaishnavi), and is the very form of Vishnu. She who is unborn (no physical birth), the source of all wombs (creation), immutable, and the essence of the Kulachara (lineage/tradition).
वीरगोष्ठीप्रिया वीरा नैष्कर्म्या नादरूपिणी ।
विज्ञानकलना कल्या विदग्धा बैन्दवासना ॥ १६७॥
She who loves the assembly of the brave (spiritual warriors), who is brave/courageous, who represents the state of actionless-ness (Naiskarmya), and who is the form of sound (Nada). She who is the manifestation of supreme knowledge, who is auspicious, skillful, and resides in the Bindu (the center of the Sri Chakra).
तत्त्वाधिका तत्त्वमयी तत्त्वमर्थ-स्वरूपिणी ।
सामगानप्रिया सौम्या सदाशिव-कुटुम्बिनी ॥ १६८॥
She who is beyond the elements (Tattvas), who is the essence of the elements, and who is the meaning of the great Vedic dictum "Tat Tvam Asi" (Thou Art That). She who loves the chanting of the Sama Veda, who is gentle, and who is the consort of Lord Sadashiva.
सव्यापसव्य-मार्गस्था सर्वापद्विनिवारिणी ।
स्वस्था स्वभावमधुरा धीरा धीरसमर्चिता ॥ १६९॥
She who follows both the right (Dakshina) and left (Vama) paths of worship, and who removes all misfortunes. She who is established in herself, naturally sweet, courageous, and worshipped by the wise.
चैतन्यार्घ्य-समाराध्या चैतन्य-कुसुमप्रिया ।
सदोदिता सदातुष्टा तरुणादित्य-पाटला ॥ १७०॥
She who is worshipped by the offering of pure consciousness (Chaitanya), and loves the flowers of consciousness. She who is eternally arisen, always satisfied, and whose complexion is as radiant as the morning sun.
दक्षिणा-दक्षिणाराध्या दरस्मेर-मुखाम्बुजा ।
कौलिनी-केवलाऽनर्घ्य-कैवल्य-पददायिनी ॥ १७१॥
She who is worshipped by those proficient in the Dakshina path (and who is the southern direction), and whose lotus-like face is adorned with a gentle smile. She who follows the Kaula tradition, who is absolute/unique, and who grants the priceless state of liberation (Kaivalya).
स्तोत्रप्रिया स्तुतिमती श्रुति-संस्तुत-वैभवा ।
मनस्विनी मानवती महेशी मङ्गलाकृतिः ॥ १७२॥
She who loves hymns of praise, who possesses the quality of being praised, and whose glory is celebrated by the Vedas (Shrutis). She who is high-minded, respected, the Great Goddess (Maheshi), and the embodiment of auspiciousness.
विश्वमाता जगद्धात्री विशालाक्षी विरागिणी ।
प्रगल्भा परमोदारा परामोदा मनोमयी ॥ १७३॥
The Mother of the Universe, the Supporter of the world, the wide-eyed Goddess, the one who is devoid of attachment (or free from worldly passions), the bold/courageous one, the supremely generous one, the source of supreme bliss, and the one who is embodied in the mind.
व्योमकेशी विमानस्था वज्रिणी वामकेश्वरी ।
पञ्चयज्ञ-प्रिया पञ्च-प्रेत-मञ्चाधिशायिनी ॥ १७४॥
She whose hair is the sky (or who has the sky as her expanse), she who dwells in the celestial chariot, the possessor of the thunderbolt (Vajra), the presiding Goddess of the Vamakeshwara Tantra, the lover of the five sacrifices (Panchayajna), and she who reclines upon the couch of the five corpses (Panchapreta - Brahma, Vishnu, Rudra, Ishvara, and Sadasiva).

बिन्दु-तर्पण-सन्तुष्टा पूर्वजा त्रिपुराम्बिका ॥ १७८॥

श्रीशिवा शिव-शक्त्यैक्य-रूपिणी ललिताम्बिका ।
एवं श्रीललिता देव्या नाम्नां साहस्रकं जगुः ॥
She who is the auspicious Shiva, the embodiment of the union of Shiva and Shakti, the Mother Lalita. Thus, the thousand names of the Goddess Lalita have been sung.
