न कर्मणा न प्रजया

(Na Karmana Na Prajaya)

This profound verse from the Kaivalya Upanishad reveals the path to immortality through renunciation, distinguishing it from other spiritual practices and worldly pursuits. Note: Click here for the full version of this mantra (also called Purna Kumbha Mantra). The first line "na karmaṇā na prajayā dhanena" declares that immortality cannot be attained through action (karmaṇā), progeny (prajayā), or wealth (dhanena). This systematic negation addresses the common human pursuits - doing good works, seeking continuation through children, and accumulating wealth.
