Brahman (The Supreme Reality)

prātaḥsmaraṇa stotraṃ

(Pratah Smarana Stotram in English (IAST))

Adi Shankaracharya

Attributed to the great philosopher Adi Shankaracharya, the Pratah Smarana Stotram is a profound morning prayer focused on the nature of the Supreme Self, or Brahman. Unlike stotras dedicated to a specific deity with form, this composition centers on Advaita Vedanta philosophy, guiding the practitioner to contemplate their inner divinity, the state of pure consciousness, and the realization of the absolute. Chanting this hymn upon waking helps align the mind with the ultimate reality, promoting spiritual clarity, shedding the ego, and establishing a sense of eternal peace and equanimity throughout the day.
