ଶ୍ରୀ ସତ୍ଯନାରାଯଣାଚୀ ଆରତୀ (ଜଯ ଜଯ ଦୀନଦଯାଳା)

The Marathi arati sung at the close of the Satyanarayana worship, its refrain hailing him as merciful to the poor while the five-wicked lamp is turned. Unusually for an arati it narrates rather than only praising: the merchant and his changing fortunes are worked through, and one line has his boat go down the moment the god's anger falls on those who went back on their word. Thirty-seven short lines carry the story, with the refrain returning between the episodes. That makes it the closing recitation of a rite rather than a hymn that stands by itself, and it takes for granted that whoever is singing has just heard the tale it is summarising.
