The Thousand Names of Shri Ucchishta Ganapati
श्रीगणेशाय नमः ।
Salutations to Lord Ganesha.
श्रीभैरव उवाच।
शृणु देवि रहस्यं मे यत्पुरा सूचितं मया ।
तव भक्त्या गणेशस्य वक्ष्ये नामसहस्रकम् ॥ १॥
Shri Bhairava said:
Listen, O Goddess, to my secret which was indicated by me formerly. Due to your devotion, I shall speak the thousand names of Ganesha.
श्रीदेव्युवाच।
ॐ भगवन्गणनाथस्य उच्छिष्टस्य महात्मनः ।
श्रोतुं नाम सहस्रं मे हृदयं प्रोत्सुकायते ॥ २॥
The Goddess said: O Bhagavan, my heart is eager to hear the thousand names of the great Ucchiṣṭa Gaṇanātha.
श्रीभैरव उवाच।
प्राङ्मुखे त्रिपुरानाथे जाता विघ्नकुलाः शिवे ।
मोहने मुच्यते चेतस्तैः सर्वैर्बलदर्पितैः ॥ ३॥
Shri Bhairava said:
O Shiva, when the Lord of Tripura faces east, groups of obstacles arise; yet, in the state of enchantment, the mind is released from all of them, even though they are proud of their strength.
तदा प्रभुं गणाध्यक्षं स्तुत्वा नामसहस्रकैः ।
विघ्ना दूरात्पलायन्ते कालरुद्रादिव प्रजाः ॥ ४॥
Then, having praised the Lord, the leader of the Ganas, with the thousand names, the obstacles flee from afar, just as beings flee from Kala Rudra.
तस्यानुग्रहतो देवि जातोऽहं त्रिपुरान्तकः ।
तमद्यापि गणेशानं स्तौमि नामसहस्रकैः ॥ ५॥
By his grace, O Goddess, I have become the destroyer of Tripura. Even today, I praise that Lord of the Ganas with a thousand names.
तदद्य तव भक्त्याहं साधकानां हिताय च ।
महागणपतेर्वक्ष्ये दिव्यं नामसहस्रकम् ॥ ६॥
Therefore, today, out of devotion to You and for the welfare of spiritual aspirants, I shall recite the divine thousand names of Mahāgaṇapati.
ॐ अस्य श्रीउच्छिष्टगणेशसहस्रनामस्तोत्रमन्त्रस्य श्रीभैरव ऋषिः ।
गायत्री छन्दः । श्रीमहागणपतिर्देवता ।
गं बीजम् । ह्रीं शक्तिः । कुरुकुरु कीलकम् ।
मम धर्मार्थकाममोक्षार्थे जपे विनियोगः ॥
Om. For this mantra of the thousand names of Sri Uchchhishta Ganesha, the seer is Sri Bhairava, the meter is Gayatri, and the deity is Sri Mahaganapati. Gam is the seed (bija), Hrim is the power (shakti), and Kurukuru is the pin (kilaka). The application of this japa is for the attainment of dharma, artha, kama, and moksha.
ॐ ह्रीं श्रीं क्लीं गणाध्यक्षो ग्लौं गँ गणपतिर्गुणी ।
गुणाढ्यो निर्गुणो गोप्ता गजवक्त्रो विभावसुः ॥ ७॥
Om Hrim Srim Klim, the Lord of the Ganas, Glaum Gam, the possessor of virtues, Ganesha. Abounding in virtues, devoid of qualities, the protector, the elephant-faced, the radiant one.
विश्वेश्वरो विभादीप्तो दीपनो धीवरो धनी ।
सदाशान्तो जगत्त्राता विश्वावर्तो विभाकरः ॥ ८॥
The Lord of the universe, resplendent, the illuminator, the wise, the wealthy; eternally peaceful, the protector of the world, the one who revolves the universe, the creator of light.
विश्रम्भी विजयो वैद्यो वारान्निधिरनुत्तमः ।
अणिमाविभवः श्रेष्ठो ज्येष्ठो गाथाप्रियो गुरुः ॥ ९॥
Trustworthy, victorious, a physician, an ocean of boons, peerless, possessed of the power of becoming atomic (aṇimā), supreme, the eldest, fond of songs, and a preceptor.
सृष्टिकर्ता जगद्धर्ता विश्वभर्ता जगन्निधिः ।
पतिः पीतविभूषाङ्को रक्ताक्षो लोहिताम्बरः ॥ १०॥
The Creator of the universe, the Sustainer of the world, the Supporter of the cosmos, the Treasure of the universe, the Lord, decorated with yellow ornaments, with red eyes, and clad in red garments.
विरूपाक्षो विमानस्थो विनीतः सदस्यः सुखी । (विनयः सात्वतः)
सुरूपः सात्त्विकः सत्यः शुद्धः शङ्करनन्दनः ॥ ११॥
The Lord of strange eyes, residing in a celestial chariot, humble, wise, and happy. (He is the embodiment of discipline and goodness).
Beautiful, virtuous, truthful, pure, and the son of Shankara.
नन्दीश्वरो जयानन्दी वन्द्यः स्तुत्यो विचक्षणः ।
दैत्यमर्द्दी सदाक्षीबो मदिरारुणलोचनः ॥ १२॥
Nandīśvara, Jayānandī, worthy of worship, deserving of praise, the wise one, the destroyer of demons, eternally intoxicated, with eyes reddened by wine.
सारात्मा विश्वसारश्च विश्वसारो विलेपनः ।
परं ब्रह्म परं ज्योतिः साक्षी त्र्यक्षो विकत्थनः ॥ १३॥
He whose essence is the whole, the essence of the universe, the essence of the universe that is anointing, the Supreme Brahman, the supreme light, the witness, the three-eyed one, and the glorious one.
विश्वेश्वरो वीरहर्ता सौभाग्यो भाग्यवर्द्धनः ।
भृङ्गिरिटी भृङ्गमाली भृङ्गकूजितनादितः ॥ १४॥
The Lord of the universe, the destroyer of the heroic, the source of prosperity, the increaser of fortune, He who is attended by Bhringiriti, He who wears a garland of bees, and He who is resonant with the humming of bees.
विनर्तको विनीतोऽपि विनतानन्दनार्चितः ।
वैनतेयो विनम्राङ्गो विश्वनायकनायकः ॥ १५॥
He who causes all to dance, though restrained, worshipped by the son of Vinata, he is the son of Vinata (Garuda's namesake), whose limbs are bowed in humility, the leader of the leaders of the universe.
विराटको विराटश्च विदग्धो विधुरात्मभूः ।
पुष्पदन्तः पुष्पहारी पुष्पमालाविभूषणः ॥ १६॥
The vast one, the vast, the clever, the creator of the lonely; the one with flowery teeth, the stealer of flowers, the one adorned with garlands of flowers.
पुष्पेषुमथनः पुष्टो विवर्तः कर्तरीकरः ।
अन्त्योऽन्तकश्चित्तगणाश्चित्तचिन्तापहारकः ॥ १७॥
The destroyer of the flower-arrowed one (Kāma), the nourished, the transformation, the creator of the scissors (or the doer), the final one, the destroyer (of death), the group of thoughts, and the stealer of the mind and anxieties.
अचिन्त्योऽचिन्त्यरूपश्च चन्दनाकुलमुण्डकः ।
लोहितो लिपितो लुप्तो लोहिताक्षो विलोभकः ॥ १८॥
Inconceivable, of inconceivable form, with a head anointed with sandalwood, red, smeared, disappeared, red-eyed, and alluring.
लब्धाशयो लोभरतो लोभदोऽलङ्घ्यगर्धकः ।
सुन्दरः सुन्दरीपुत्रः समस्तासुरघातकः ॥ १९॥
He whose heart has attained its desire, who is devoted to greed, who bestows greed, whose covetousness is insurmountable, who is beautiful, the son of Sundari, and the slayer of all demons.
नूपुराढ्यो विभवेन्द्रो नरनारायणो रविः ।
विचारो वान्तदो वाग्मी वितर्की विजयीश्वरः ॥ २०॥
Adorned with anklets, the lord of wealth, the Nara-Narayana, the sun, the thoughtful, the dispenser of what has been rejected, the eloquent, the analytical, the lord of victory.
सुप्तो बुद्धः सदारूपः सुखदः सुखसेवितः ।
विकर्तनो वियच्चारी विनटो नटनर्तकः ॥ २१॥
He is the awakened one though asleep, the embodiment of truth, the giver of happiness, and served by happiness. He is the sun, the traveler of the sky, the destroyer (of ignorance), and the actor who performs the cosmic dance.
नटो नाट्यप्रियो नादोऽनन्तोऽनन्तगुणात्मकः ।
गङ्गाजलपानप्रियो गङ्गातीरविहारकृत् ॥ २२॥
He is the actor, the lover of drama, the primal sound, the infinite one, possessed of infinite qualities; He is the lover of drinking the waters of the Ganges and the one who sports on the banks of the Ganges.
गङ्गाप्रियो गङ्गजश्च वाहनादिपुरःसरः ।
गन्धमादनसंवासो गन्धमादनकेलिकृत् ॥ २३॥
The beloved of Ganga, born of Ganga, accompanied by a vehicle and others, residing on Mount Gandhamadana, and sporting on Mount Gandhamadana.
गन्धानुलिप्तपूर्वाङ्गः सर्वदेवस्मरः सदा ।
गणगन्धर्वराजेशो गणगन्धर्वसेवितः ॥ २४॥
With his forebody anointed with sandalwood paste, ever meditating on all the gods, the lord of the hosts and the celestial musicians, served by the hosts and the celestial musicians.
गन्धर्वपूजितो नित्यं सर्वरोगविनाशकः ।
गन्धर्वगणसंसेव्यो गन्धर्ववरदायकः ॥ २५॥
Always worshipped by the Gandharvas, the destroyer of all diseases, served by the hosts of Gandharvas, and the bestower of boons upon the Gandharvas.
गन्धर्वो गन्धमातङ्गो गन्धर्वकुलदैवतः ।
गन्धर्वगर्वसंवेगो गन्धर्ववरदायकः ॥ २६॥
The Gandharva, the fragrant elephant, the deity of the Gandharva lineage, the impetuous force of the Gandharva's pride, and the bestower of boons upon the Gandharvas.
गन्धर्वप्रबलार्तिघ्नो गन्धर्वगणसंयुतः ।
गन्धर्वादिगुणानन्दो नन्दोऽनन्तगुणात्मकः ॥ २७॥
The destroyer of the intense distress of the Gandharvas, accompanied by the host of Gandharvas, the one who delights in the qualities of the Gandharvas and others, the joyful one, who is of infinite attributes.
विश्वमूर्तिर्विश्वधाता विनतास्यो विनर्तकः ।
करालः कामदः कान्तः कमनीयः कलानिधिः ॥ २८॥
The embodiment of the universe, the sustainer of the universe, with a face bent low, the divine dancer; the formidable, the fulfiller of desires, the beautiful, the desirable, the treasure-house of arts.
कारुण्यरूपः कुटिलः कुलाचारी कुलेश्वरः ।
विकरालो रणश्रेष्ठः संहारो हारभूषणः ॥ २९॥
He is the embodiment of compassion, devious, one who follows the Kula path, the lord of the Kula, terrifying, the best in battle, the destroyer, and adorned with garlands.
उरुरम्यमुखो रक्तो देवतादयितौरसः ।
महाकालो महादंष्ट्रो महोरगभयानकः ॥ ३०॥
With a wide and beautiful face, red-complexioned, beloved by the gods, and born from their essence, the great Mahakala has great fangs and is as terrifying as a giant serpent.
उन्मत्तरूपः कालाग्निरग्निसूर्येन्दुलोचनः ।
सितास्यः सितमाल्यश्च सितदन्तः सितांशुमान् ॥ ३१॥
He has the form of a madman, he is the fire of time, he has the fire, the sun, and the moon as his eyes; he has a fair face, wears a fair garland, has fair teeth, and possesses the brilliance of the moon.
असितात्मा भैरवेशो भाग्यवान्भगवान्भवः ।
गर्भात्मजो भगावासो भगदो भगवर्द्धनः ॥ ३२॥
The dark-souled Lord of Bhairavas, the fortunate Lord Bhava, the soul of the womb, the abode of fortune, the bestower of fortune, and the enhancer of fortune.
शुभङ्करः शुचिः शान्तः श्रेष्ठः श्रव्यः शचीपतिः ।
वेदाद्यो वेदकर्ता च वेदवेद्यः सनातनः ॥ ३३॥
The benefactor, the pure, the peaceful, the supreme, the praiseworthy, the lord of Sachi; the beginning of the Vedas, the creator of the Vedas, the one to be known through the Vedas, and the eternal.
विद्याप्रदो वेदरसो वैदिको वेदपारगः ।
वेदध्वनिरतो वीरो वेदविद्यागमोऽर्थवित् ॥ ३४॥
The bestower of knowledge, the essence of the Vedas, the knower of the Vedas, the master of the Vedas, devoted to the sound of the Vedas, the heroic one, the one who has attained the knowledge of the Vedas, and the knower of the meaning.
तत्त्वज्ञः सर्वगः साधुः सदयः सदसन्मयः ।
शिवङ्करः शिवसुतः शिवानन्दविवर्द्धनः ॥ ३५॥
He is the knower of truth, all-pervading, virtuous, compassionate, and composed of both the manifest and the unmanifest. He is the doer of good, the son of Shiva, and the enhancer of the bliss of Shiva.
शैत्यः श्वेतः शतमुखी मुग्धो मोदकभूषणः ।
देवो दिनकरो धीरो धृतिमान्द्युतिमान्धवः ॥ ३६॥
Cool, white, hundred-faced, charming, adorned with sweets, the shining deity, the sun, wise, steadfast, and radiant Lord.
शुद्धात्मा शुद्धमतिमाञ्छुद्धदीप्तिः शुचिव्रतः ।
शरण्यः शौनकः शूरः शरदम्भोजधारकः ॥ ३७॥
Of pure soul, of pure mind, of pure radiance, of pure vows; worthy of seeking refuge in, Shaunaka, heroic, bearer of the autumnal lotus.
दारकः शिखिवाहेष्टः सितः शङ्करवल्लभः ।
शङ्करो निर्भयो नित्यो लयकृल्लास्यतत्परः ॥ ३८॥
The son [Ganesha/Kartikeya], dear to the peacock-rider [Kartikeya/Shiva], is white, beloved of Shankara; Shankara is fearless, eternal, the creator of dissolution, and intent upon the cosmic dance.
लूतो लीलारसोल्लासी विलासी विभ्रमो भ्रमः ।
भ्रमणः शशिभृत्सूर्यः शनिर्धरणिनन्दनः ॥ ३९॥
The spider is playful and full of delight, a charming illusion that wanders; the wanderer is the moon-bearer (Shiva), the sun, Saturn, and the son of the earth (Mars).
बुधो विबुधसेव्यश्च बुधराजो बलंधरः ।
जीवो जीवप्रदो जेता स्तुत्यो नित्यो रतिप्रियः ॥ ४०॥
The wise one, served by the learned, the king of the wise, the sustainer of strength, the source of life, the giver of life, the conqueror, the praiseworthy, the eternal, and the lover of delight.
जनको जनमार्गज्ञो जनरक्षणतत्परः ।
जनानां प्रदाता च जनकाह्लादकारकः ॥ ४१॥
The generator, the knower of the path of the people, intent on the protection of the people, the provider for the people, and the cause of joy for the people.
विबुधो बुधमान्यश्च जैनमार्गनिवर्तकः ।
गच्छो गणपतिर्गच्छनायको गच्छगर्वहा ॥ ४२॥
A wise man, respected by the learned, a propagator of the Jaina path, a leader of the community (Gaccha), a master of the community, and one who humbles the pride of the community.
गच्छराजोथ गच्छेशो गच्छराजनमस्कृतः ।
गच्छप्रियो गच्छगुरुर्गच्छत्राकृद्यमातुरः ॥ ४३॥
The king of the assembly, the lord of the assembly, worshipped by the king of the assembly, beloved of the assembly, the preceptor of the assembly, the protector of the assembly, and the stabilizer of the assembly.
गच्छप्रभुर्गच्छचरो गच्छप्रियकृतोद्यमः ।
गच्छगीतगुणो गर्तो मर्यादाप्रतिपालकः ॥ ४४॥
The leader of the group, one who moves with the group, one who strives for the benefit of the group, one who sings the virtues of the group, one who is a refuge, and the protector of the established norms.
गीर्वाणागमसारस्य गर्भो गीर्वाणदेवता ।
गौरीसुतो गुरुवरो गौराङ्गो गणपूजितः ॥ ४५॥
The essence of divine scriptures, the embodiment of divine deities, the son of Gauri, the excellent preceptor, fair-complexioned, and worshipped by the ganas.
परम्पदं परन्धाम परमात्मा कविः कुजः ।
राहुर्दैत्यशिरश्छेदी केतुः कनककुण्डलः ॥ ४६॥
The Supreme Abode, the Supreme Effulgence, the Supreme Soul, the All-knowing (Kavi), Mars (Kuja), Rahu the severer of the demon's head, and Ketu adorned with golden earrings.
ग्रहेन्द्रो ग्रहितो ग्राह्योऽग्रणीर्घुर्घुरनादितः ।
पर्जन्यः पीवरः पत्री पीनवक्षाः पराक्रमी ॥ ४७॥
The lord of planets, the seized one, the one to be seized, the leader, resounding with a guttural sound; the rain-cloud, the stout one, the winged one, broad-chested, and valorous.
वनेचरो वनस्पतिर्वनवासी स्मरोपमः ।
पुण्यः पूतः पवित्रश्च परात्मा पूर्णाविग्रहः ॥ ४८॥
The wanderer of the forest, the lord of plants, the dweller of the woods, he who is like the God of Love; the meritorious, the purified, the holy, the Supreme Soul, the embodiment of completeness.
पूर्णेन्दुसुकलाकारो मन्त्रपूर्णमनोरथः ।
युगात्मा युगकृद्यज्वा याज्ञिको यज्ञवत्सलः ॥ ४९॥
He who has the form of the digits of the full moon, whose desires are fulfilled by the mantra, the soul of the Yugas, the creator of the Yugas, the performer of sacrifices, the offerer of oblations, and the lover of sacrifices.
यशस्यो यजमानेष्टो वज्रभृद्वज्रपञ्जरः ।
मणिभद्रो मणिमयो मान्यो मीनध्वजाश्रितः ॥ ५०॥
He who is glorious, beloved of the sacrificer, the wielder of the thunderbolt, and armored in a thunderbolt; he who is Manibhadra, jewel-like, venerable, and a refuge for the god of love.
मीनध्वजो मनोहारी योगिनां योगवर्धनः ।
द्रष्टा स्रष्टा तपस्वी च विग्रही तापसप्रियः ॥ ५१॥
The one with the fish as his emblem, the captivator of the mind, the enhancer of the yoga of yogis, the witness, the creator, the ascetic, the embodiment of form, and the beloved of the austere.
तपोमयस्तपोमूर्तिस्तपनश्च तपोधनः ।
सम्पत्तिसदनाकारः सम्पत्तिसुखदायकः ॥ ५२॥
He is composed of austerity, the embodiment of austerity, the sun-like (scorcher of sins), and possessor of the wealth of austerity. He is the image of the abode of prosperity and the bestower of the happiness of prosperity.
सम्पत्तिसुखकर्ता च सम्पत्तिसुभगाननः ।
सम्पत्तिशुभदो नित्यसम्पत्तिश्च यशोधनः ॥ ५३॥
He who is the creator of the happiness of prosperity, whose face is beautiful with prosperity, who bestows auspicious prosperity, who is constant prosperity, and who possesses the wealth of glory.
रुचको मेचकस्तुष्टः प्रभुस्तोमरघातकः ।
दण्डी चण्डांशुरव्यक्तः कमण्डलुधरोऽनघः ॥ ५४॥
Ruchaka (radiant), Mechaka (dark-hued), Tushta (satisfied), Prabhu (lord), Tomaraghātaka (wielder of the iron lance), Daṇḍī (staff-bearer), Chaṇḍāmshu (intense-rayed/sun-like), Avyakta (unmanifest), Kamaṇḍaludhara (bearer of the water-pot), and Anagha (sinless).
कामी कर्मरतः कालः कोलः क्रन्दितदिक्तटः ।
भ्रामको जातिपूज्यश्च जाड्यहा जडसूदनः ॥ ५५॥
The lover, the one engaged in action, time, the boar, the one who makes the regions of the quarters resound with cries, the wanderer, the one worshipped by the people, the destroyer of dullness, and the slayer of the ignorant.
जालन्धरो जगद्वासी हास्यकृद्गहनो गुहः ।
हविष्मान्हव्यवाहाक्षो हाटको हाटकाङ्गदः ॥ ५६॥
Jālandhara (the support of the net/universe), the dweller in the world, the creator of laughter, the mysterious, the hidden (Guha), the one who possesses offerings, the one whose eyes are sacrificial fires (Havyavāhākṣa), the golden one, and the one adorned with golden armlets.
सुमेरुर्हिमवान्होता हरपुत्रो हलङ्कषः ।
हालाप्रियो हृदाशान्तः कान्ताहृदयपोषणः ॥ ५७॥
Sumeru, the Himalayas, the invoker, the son of Hara, the destroyer of the plow, the lover of wine, tranquil at heart, and the nourisher of the beloved's heart.
शोषणः क्लेशहा क्रूरः कठोरः कठिनाकृतिः ।
कुबेरो धीमयो ध्याता ध्येयो धीमान्दयानिधिः ॥ ५८॥
The dryer (of sins), the remover of suffering, the ruthless (to evil), the stern, the one of difficult form, Kubera, the wise, the meditator, the object of meditation, the intelligent one, the treasure-house of compassion.
दविष्ठो दमनो हृष्टो दाता त्राता पितासमः ।
निर्गतो नैगमोऽगम्यो निर्जयो जटिलोऽजरः ॥ ५९॥
The most distant, the subduer, the joyful, the giver, the protector, the equal of a father, the one who has emerged, the one belonging to the scriptures, the unreachable, the unconquerable, the one with matted hair, and the ageless.
जनजीवो जितारातिर्जगद्व्यापी जगन्मयः ।
चामीकरनिभो नाभ्यो नलिनायतलोचनः ॥ ६०॥
He who is the life of all beings, who has conquered all enemies, who pervades the universe, who is identical with the universe, who is radiant like gold, whose navel is profound, and whose eyes are long like lotus petals.
रोचनो मोचको मन्त्री मन्त्रकोटिसमाश्रितः ।
पञ्चभूतात्मकः पञ्चसायकः पञ्चवक्त्रकः ॥ ६१॥
He who is radiant, the liberator, the counselor, who dwells in millions of mantras, who is composed of the five elements, who possesses five arrows, and who has five faces.
पञ्चमः पश्चिमः पूर्वः पूर्णः कीर्णालकः कुणिः ।
कठोरहृदयो ग्रीवालङ्कृतो ललिताशयः ॥ ६२॥
The fifth, the western, the eastern, the complete, with scattered locks, the crippled, the hard-hearted, the one adorned at the neck, and the one of elegant disposition.
लोलचित्तो बृहन्नासो मासपक्षर्तुरूपवान् ।
ध्रुवो द्रुतगतिर्बन्धो धर्मी नाकिप्रियोऽनलः ॥ ६३॥
Possessing a fickle mind, a large nose, and the form of a month, a fortnight, or a season; firm, swift-moving, bound, righteous, dear to the gods, and fiery.
अङ्गुल्यग्रस्थभुवनो भुवनैकमलापहः ।
सागरः स्वर्गतिः स्वक्षः सानन्दः साधुपूजितः ॥ ६४॥
He whose fingers hold the worlds, he who removes the distress of the worlds, the ocean (of virtues), the destination of the heavens, he who has beautiful eyes, he who is full of bliss, and he who is worshipped by the virtuous.
सतीपतिः समरसः सनकः सरलः सरः ।
सुरप्रियो वसुमतिर्वासवो वसुपूजितः ॥ ६५॥
The husband of Sati, equal in essence, ancient, simple, a lake of nectar; dear to the gods, the supporter of the earth, king of the gods, worshiped by the wealthy.
वित्तदो वित्तनाथश्च धनिनां धनदायकः ।
राजीवनयनः स्मार्तः स्मृतिदः कृत्तिकाम्बरः ॥ ६६॥
He who gives wealth, the lord of wealth, the bestower of riches unto the wealthy; he with lotus-like eyes, the one to be remembered, the giver of memory, he who is adorned with the Pleiades as his garment.
अश्विनोऽश्वमुखः शुभ्रो भरणो भरणीप्रियः ।
कृत्तिकासनकः कोलो रोहिणीरमणोपमः ॥ ६७॥
The Ashvini is horse-faced and brilliant; Bharani is the beloved of Bharani; Krittika is the throne-dweller; Rohini is like a lover.
रौहिणेयप्रेमकरी रोहिणीमोहनो मृगः ।
मृगराजो मृगशिरा माधवो मधुरध्वनिः ॥ ६८॥
The beloved of Rohiṇeya, the charmer of Rohiṇī, the deer, the king of beasts, the one with the constellation Mṛgaśiras, the lord of Lakṣmī, and the one with the sweet sound.
आर्द्राननो महाबुद्धिर्महोरगविभूषणः ।
भ्रूक्षेपदत्तविभवो भ्रूकरालः पुनर्मयः ॥ ६९॥
With a moist face, possessed of great intelligence, adorned with great serpents, one who bestows wealth by the mere movement of his brows, having terrible brows, and is again [in the form of] Maya.
पुनर्देव: पुनर्जेता पुनर्जीवः पुनर्वसुः ।
तिमिरास्तिमिकेतुश्च तितिषासुरघातनः ॥ ७०॥
The Divine again, the Conqueror again, the Living again, the Giver of wealth again; the dispeller of darkness, the banner of the fish, and the destroyer of the Asuras who desire to torture.
तिष्यस्तुलाधरो जृम्भो विश्लेषाश्लेषदानराट् ।
मानदो माधवो माधो वाचालो मघवोपमः ॥ ७१॥
Tishya, Tula-dhara, Jrimbha, Vishlesha, Ashlesha-danarat, Manada, Madhava, Madha, Vachala, Maghavopama.
मध्यो मघाप्रियो मेघो महाशुण्डो महाभुजः ।
पूर्वफाल्गुनिकः स्फीत फल्गुरुत्तरफाल्गुनः ॥ ७२॥
The one who is fond of the Magha constellation, whose middle is like a cloud, who possesses a great trunk, and mighty arms; who is related to the Purvaphalguni constellation, is prosperous, and is the Uttaraphalguni constellation.
फेनिलो ब्रह्मदो ब्रह्मा सप्ततन्तुसमाश्रयः ।
घोणाहस्तश्चतुर्हस्तो हस्तिवक्त्रो हलायुधः ॥ ७३॥
The foamy one, the giver of the Veda, the creator, the refuge of the seven threads (sacrifices), the one with a trunk like a coiled rope, four-armed, elephant-faced, and wielder of the plough.
चित्राम्बरोऽर्चितपदः स्वस्तिदः स्वस्तिविग्रहः ।
विशाखः शिखिसेव्यश्च शिखिध्वजसहोदरः ॥ ७४॥
Adorned with variegated garments, whose feet are worshipped, the bestower of well-being, the embodiment of well-being, having spreading branches (or known as Vishakha), served by the peacock, and the brother of the one who has a peacock as his banner.
अणुरेणूत्करः स्फारो रुरुरेणुसुतो नरः ।
अनुराधाप्रियो राधः श्रीमाञ्छुक्लः शुचिस्मितः ॥ ७५॥
He who is the collection of atoms and molecules, the expansive one, the son of Ruru (the deer), the man, the beloved of Anuradha, the one who possesses success, the glorious one, the pure one, and the one with a bright smile.
ज्येष्ठः श्रेष्ठार्चितपदो मूलं च त्रिजगद्गुरुः ।
शुचिश्चैव पूर्वाषाढश्चोत्तराषाढ ईश्वरः ॥ ७६॥
The eldest, whose feet are worshipped by the most excellent, the root and teacher of the three worlds, the pure one, the first of the Aṣāḍhas, the latter of the Aṣāḍhas, and the Supreme Lord.
श्रव्योऽभिजिदनन्तात्मा श्रवो वेपितदानवः ।
श्रावणः श्रवणः श्रोता धनी धन्यो धनिष्ठकः ॥ ७७॥
He who is to be heard, the conqueror, the infinite self, the fame, the one by whom the demons were trembled, he who is the listener, the one who hears, the hearer, the wealthy, the fortunate, and the most wealthy.
शातातपः शातकुम्भः शरज्ज्योतिः शताभिषक् ।
पूर्वाभाद्रपदो भद्रश्चोत्तराभाद्रपादितः ॥ ७८॥
Shatatapa, Shatakumbha, Sharajjyotih, Shatabhishak, Purvabhadrapada, Bhadra, and Uttarabhadrapada.
रेणुकातनयो रामो रेवतीरमणो रमी ।
आश्वयुक्कार्तिकेयेष्टो मार्गशीर्षो मृगोत्तमः ॥ ७९॥
Rama, the son of Renuka, is the lover of Revati (Balarama), and is delightful. He is cherished in the months of Ashvayuja and Kartika, and in Margashirsha, he is the best of the deer (Mrigottama).
पौषेश्वरः फाल्गुनात्मा वसन्तश्चैत्रको मधुः ।
राज्यदोऽभिजिदात्मीयस्तारेशस्तारकद्युतिः ॥ ८०॥
The lord of Pausha is the embodiment of Phalguna, and Vasant (spring) is the soul of Chaitra, which is Madhu. The bestower of sovereignty is Abhijit, who belongs to the self, and the lord of the stars possesses the radiance of a star.
प्रतीतः प्रोर्जितः प्रीतः परमः परमो हितः ।
परहा पञ्चभूः पञ्चवायुपूज्यः परिग्रहः ॥ ८१॥
Recognized, empowered, delighted, supreme, supremely beneficial, destroyer of enemies, source of the five elements, worshipped by the five vital breaths, and the possessor of all.
पुराणागमविद्योगी महिषो रासभोऽग्रजः ।
ग्रहो मेषो वृषो मन्दो मन्मथो मिथुनाकृतिः ॥ ८२॥
The knower of the Puranas and Agamas is a buffalo, the eldest is a donkey; the planet is Aries, the slow one is Taurus, and Cupid is in the form of Gemini.
कल्पभृत्कटको दीपो मर्कटः कर्कटो घृणिः ।
कुक्कुटो वनजो हंसः परमहंसः सृगालकः ॥ ८३॥
A mountain-dwelling tree, a lamp, a monkey, a crab, the sun, a rooster, a forest-born one, a swan, a supreme swan (renunciate), and a jackal.
सिंहः सिंहासनाभूष्यो मद्गुर्मूषकवाहनः ।
पुत्रदो नरकत्राता कन्याप्रीतः कुलोद्वहः ॥ ८४॥
The lion is the ornament of the throne; the cormorant is the vehicle of the mouse (Ganesha); the grantor of sons, the protector from hell, the one fond of maidens, and the upholder of the lineage.
अतुल्यरूपो बलदस्तुल्यभृत्तुल्यसाक्षिकः ।
अलिश्चापधरो धन्वी कच्छपो मकरो मणिः ॥ ८५॥
He who is of incomparable form, the giver of strength, the maintainer of equality, the impartial witness, the non-attached, the bearer of the bow, the archer, the tortoise, the crocodile, and the jewel.
कुम्भभृत्कलशः कुब्जो मीनमांससुतर्पितः ।
राशिताराग्रहमयस्तिथिरूपो जगद्विभुः ॥ ८६॥
The bearer of the water-pot is the jar, bent is the fish, satisfied with flesh, consisting of zodiac signs, stars, and planets, having the form of lunar days, the Lord of the world.
प्रतापी प्रतिपत्प्रेयोऽद्वितीयोऽद्वैतनिश्चितः ।
त्रिरूपश्च तृतीयाग्निस्त्रयीरूपस्त्रयीतनुः ॥ ८७॥
He is glorious, the beloved of the crescent moon, the matchless one, established in non-duality, possessing three forms, the third fire, the embodiment of the three Vedas, and the one whose body is the three Vedas.
चतुर्थीवल्लभो देवो परागः पञ्चमीश्वरः ।
षड्रसास्वादविज्ञानः षष्ठी षष्टिकवत्सलः ॥ ८८॥
The Lord is the beloved of the fourth (moon), the master of the fifth (tithi) who is adorned with pollen; he is the knower of the taste of the six flavors, and the sixth (tithi) is dear to him as sixty (shashtika) rice.
सप्तार्णवगतिः सारः सप्तमीश्वर रोहितः ।
अष्टमीनन्दनोत्तंसो नवमीभक्तिभावितः ॥ ८९॥
He whose movement spans the seven oceans, the essence, the lord of the seventh, the rising sun; he who is the crest-jewel of the eighth, and one filled with devotion on the ninth.
दशदिक्पतिपूज्यश्च दशमीद्रुहिणो द्रुतः ।
एकादशात्मगणपो द्वादशीयुगचर्चितः ॥ ९०॥
He is worshipped by the lords of the ten directions, is the swift creator of the tenth, the lord of the eleven manifestations of the self, and is adorned by the union of the twelve.
त्रयोदशमणिस्तुत्यश्चतुर्दशस्वरप्रियः ।
चतुर्दशेन्द्रसंस्तुत्यः पूर्णिमानन्दविग्रहः ॥ ९१॥
He who is praised by the thirteen jewels, who is fond of the fourteen vowels, who is extolled by the fourteen Indras, and who is the embodiment of the bliss of the full moon.
दर्शदर्शो दर्शनश्च वानप्रस्थो महेश्वरः ।
मौर्वी मधुरवाङ्मूलमूर्तिमान्मेघवाहनः ॥ ९२॥
The seer of every vision, the vision itself, the forest-dweller, the Great Lord, the wearer of the bowstring, the sweet-spoken, the embodiment of the root, and the one whose vehicle is the cloud.
महागजो जितक्रोधो जितशत्रुर्जयाश्रयः ।
रौद्रो रुद्रप्रियो रुद्रो रुद्रपुत्रोऽघनाशनः ॥ ९३॥
The great elephant (mighty one), who has conquered anger, who has conquered his enemies, who is the refuge of victory, who is terrible, beloved of Rudra, Rudra himself, the son of Rudra, and the destroyer of sins.
भवप्रियो भवानीष्टो भारभृद्भूतभावनः ।
गान्धर्वकुशलोऽकुण्ठो वैकुण्ठो विष्टरश्रवाः ॥ ९४॥
He who is dear to the world, beloved of Bhavani, the bearer of the burden of the universe, and the creator of all beings; who is skilled in the celestial arts, unthwarted, the abode of Vaikuntha, and whose glory is spread everywhere.
वृत्रहा विघ्नहा सीरः समस्तदुःखतापहा ।
मञ्जुरो मार्जरो मत्तो दुर्गापुत्रो दुरालसः ॥ ९५॥
The slayer of Vritra, the remover of obstacles, the ploughman, the destroyer of all sorrows and afflictions, the charming one, the cleanser, the intoxicated one, the son of Durga, the destroyer of laziness.
अनन्तचित्सुधाधारो वीरो वीर्यैकसाधकः ।
भास्वन्मुकुटमाणिक्यः कूजत्किङ्किंणिजालकः ॥ ९६॥
The infinite stream of nectar of consciousness, the hero, the sole practitioner of valor, with a radiant crest-jewel, and a network of tinkling small bells.
शुण्डाधारी तुण्डचलः कुण्डली मुण्डमालकः ।
पद्माक्षः पद्महस्तश्च पद्मनाभसमर्चितः ॥ ९७॥
He who bears the trunk, whose face moves, who is coiled, who wears a garland of skulls, whose eyes are like lotuses, who holds a lotus in his hand, and who is worshipped by the lotus-navelled one.
उद्धृताधरदन्ताढ्यो मालाभूषणभूषितः ।
मारदो वारणो लोलश्रवणः शूर्पकर्णकः ॥ ९८॥
Possessing uplifted tusks, adorned with garlands and ornaments, the bestower of love, elephant-like, with moving ears and winnowing-basket ears.
बृहदुल्लासनासाढ्यो व्याप्तत्रैलोक्यमण्डलः ।
रत्नमण्डलमध्यस्थः कृशानुरूपशीलकः ॥ ९९॥
Possessing a prominent and radiant nose, pervading the entire circle of the three worlds, abiding in the center of a circle of jewels, having the character and form of fire.
बृहत्कर्णाञ्चलोद्भूतवायुवीजितदिक्तटः ।
बृहदास्यरवाक्रान्तभीतब्रह्माण्डभाण्डकः ॥ १००॥
The quarters are fanned by the breeze generated by the movement of his large ear-flaps, and the vessel of the universe is filled with fear by the thunderous roar from his massive mouth.
बृहत्पादसमाक्रान्तसप्तपातालदीपितः ।
बृहद्दन्तकृतात्युग्ररणानन्दरसालसः ॥ १०१॥
He whose great feet have stepped over the seven nether worlds, illuminating them; he who is sluggish with the joy of the intense battle caused by his massive tusks.
बृहद्धस्तधृताशेषायुधनिर्जितदानवः ।
स्फूरत्सिन्दूरवदनः स्फुरत्तेजोऽग्निलोचनः ॥ १०२॥
He who has conquered the demons with all weapons held in his mighty hands, whose face is radiant with vermilion, and whose eyes are like flashing fires of brilliance.
उद्दीपितमणिस्फूर्जन्नूपुरध्वनिनादितः ।
चलत्तोयप्रवाहाढ्यो नदीजलकणाकरः ॥ १०३॥
Resounding with the tinkling of anklets set with glowing gems, and rich with flowing streams of water, it is a source of river-water droplets.
भ्रमत्कुञ्जरसङ्घातवन्दिताङ्घ्रिसरोरुहः ।
ब्रह्माच्युतमहारुद्रपुरस्सरसुरार्चितः ॥ १०४॥
Whose lotus-feet are worshipped by the host of roaming elephants, and who is adored by the gods led by Brahma, Achyuta, and the great Rudra.
अशेषशेषप्रभृतिव्यालजालोपसेवितः ।
गर्जत्पञ्चाननारावव्याप्ताकाशधरातलः ॥ १०५॥
Served by a multitude of serpents, headed by Shesha; the sky and the earth are pervaded by the roaring of lions.
हाहाहूहूगतात्युग्रस्वरविभ्रान्तमानसः ।
पञ्चाशद्वर्णबीजाख्यमन्त्रमन्त्रितविग्रहः ॥ १०६॥
With a mind bewildered by the extremely fierce sounds produced by Haha and Huhu, and with a body consecrated by the mantra consisting of the fifty letter-seeds.
वेदान्तशास्त्रपीयूषधाराऽऽप्लावितभूतलः ।
शङ्खध्वनिसमाक्रान्तपातालादिनभस्तलः ॥ १०७॥
The surface of the earth is flooded by the stream of nectar of the Vedanta scriptures, and the regions from the netherworld up to the sky are filled with the sound of the conch.
चिन्तामणिर्महामल्लो बल्लहस्तो बलिः कविः ।
कृतत्रेतायुगोल्लासभासमानजगत्त्रयः ॥ १०८॥
The wish-fulfilling gem, the great wrestler, the wielder of a club, the mighty one, the poet; he who illuminates the three worlds with the radiance of the Krita and Treta ages.
द्वापरः परलोकैकः कर्मध्वान्तसुधाकरः ।
सुधाऽऽसिक्तवपुर्व्यासो ब्रह्माण्डादिकबाहुकः ॥ १०९॥
The Dvapara Yuga is the sole world beyond, a nectar-rayed moon for the darkness of karma; Vyasa, whose body is sprinkled with nectar, is the supporter of the cosmic egg and the rest.
अकारादिक्षकारान्तवर्णपङ्क्तिसमुज्ज्वलः ।
अकाराकारप्रोद्गीतताननादनिनादितः ॥ ११०॥
Resplendent with the series of letters from 'a' to 'kṣa', and resonant with the sounds and melodies chanted from the form of 'a'.
इकारेकारमत्राढ्यमालाभ्रमणलालसः ।
उकारोकारप्रोद्गारिघोरनागोपवीतकः ॥ १११॥
He who is eager to wander in the garland of 'i' and 'ī' sounds, and who wears a terrifying serpent as a sacred thread that emits the 'u' and 'ū' sounds.
ऋवर्णाङ्कितॠकारिपद्मद्वयसमुज्ज्वलः ।
लृकारयुतलॄकारशङ्खपूर्णदिगन्तरः ॥ ११२॥
Radiant with two lotus feet marked by the letter Ṛ, and with the cardinal directions filled by the sound of the conch of the letters Ḷ and Ḡ.
एकारैककारगिरिजास्तनपानविचक्षणः ।
ओकारौकारविश्वादिकृतसृष्टिक्रमालसः ॥ ११३॥
Expert in the drinking of the milk from the breasts of the daughter of the mountain (Pārvatī), who is the singular 'E' and 'Ai'; lazy in the sequential creation of the world and other things, signified by the 'O' and 'Au'.
अंअःवर्णावलीव्याप्तपादादिशीर्षमण्डलः ।
कर्णतालकृतात्युच्चैर्वायुवीजितनिर्जरः ॥ ११४॥
His body from head to foot is pervaded by the series of letters, and he fans the immortals with the very high flapping of his ears.
खगेशध्वजरत्नाङ्ककिरीटारुणपादकः ।
गर्विताशेषगन्धर्वगीततत्परश्रोत्रकः ॥ ११५॥
Whose feet are reddened by the crown marked with the jewel of the Lord of Birds (Garuda), and whose ears are intent on the songs sung by the proud host of Gandharvas.
घनवाहनवागीशपुरस्सरसुरार्चितः ।
ङवर्णामृतधाराढ्यशोभमानैकदन्तकः ॥ ११६॥
Worshipped by the gods led by Indra and Brahma, whose single tusk shines, being rich in the nectar-stream of the letter 'Gha'.
चन्द्रकुङ्कुमजम्बाललिप्तसिन्दूरविग्रहः ।
छत्रचामररत्नाढ्यमुकुटालङ्कृताननः ॥ ११७॥
Whose body is smeared with the paste of camphor, saffron, and musk, and adorned with vermilion; whose face is decorated with a crown rich in jewels, royal umbrellas, and whisks.
जटाबद्धमहानर्घमणिपङ्क्तिविराजितः ।
झङ्कारिमधुपव्रातगाननादविनादितः ॥ ११८॥
Resplendent with rows of precious gems tied in matted locks, and resonant with the humming songs of swarms of bees.
ञवर्णकृतसंहारदैत्यासृक्पर्णमुद्गरः ।
टकाराख्याफलास्वादवेपिताशेषमूर्धजः ॥ ११९॥
He who wields a mace whose leaf (head) is formed by the blood of demons destroyed by the letter 'Nya'; he whose hair stands on end, trembling from the taste of the fruit named 'Ta'.
ठकाराद्यडकाराङ्कढकारानन्दतोषितः ।
णवर्णामृतपीयूषधाराधारसुधाकरः ॥ १२०॥
He who is gratified by the bliss of the letter 'ḍha' which is marked by the letters 'ṭha' and 'ḍa' at the beginning and end, and who is the moon-like source of the nectar-stream of the letter 'ṇa'.
ताम्रसिन्दूरपूजाढ्यललाटफलकच्छविः ।
थकारधनपङ्क्त्यातिसन्तोषिताद्विजव्रजः ॥ १२१॥
The radiance of whose forehead is enriched by the worship of copper-colored vermilion, and whose multitude of twice-born (teeth) is greatly delighted by the rows of the sound 'tha'.
दयामृतहृदम्भोजधृतत्रैलोक्यमण्डलः ।
धनदादिमहायक्षसंसेवितपदाम्बुजः ॥ १२२॥
He whose heart-lotus, imbued with the nectar of compassion, sustains the circle of the three worlds, and whose lotus-feet are served by great Yakshas like Kubera.
नमिताशेषदेवौघकिरीटमणिरञ्जितः ।
परवर्गापवर्गादिभोगेच्छेदनदक्षकः ॥ १२३॥
He who is adorned by the gems of the crowns of the multitude of all gods bowed down, and who is expert in severing the desire for worldly enjoyments and attainments of others.
फणिचक्रसमाक्रान्तगलमण्डलमण्डितः ।
बद्धभ्रूयुगभीमोग्रसन्तर्जितसुरासुरः ॥ १२४॥
Adorned with a neck encircled by a coil of serpents, and terrifyingly fierce with knitted brows, he strikes awe into both gods and demons.
भवानीहृदयानन्दवर्द्धनैकनिशाकरः ।
मदिराकलशस्फीतकरालैककराम्बुजः ॥ १२५॥
He who is the sole moon causing the joy of Bhavani's heart, and whose lotus-hand holds a formidable vessel filled with wine.
यज्ञान्तरायसङ्घातसज्जीकृतवरायुधः ।
रत्नाकरसुताकान्तिक्रान्तिकीर्तिविवर्धनः ॥ १२६॥
He who has readied excellent weapons to destroy the obstacles to sacrifices, and who increases the splendor of the fame that surpasses the beauty of the consort of the Ocean's daughter.
लम्बोदरमहाभीमवपुर्दीप्तकृतासुरः ।
वरुणादिदिगीशानस्वर्चितार्चनचर्चितः ॥ १२७॥
With a large belly and a terrifyingly massive form, he struck dread into the demons; he is worshipped by the guardians of the directions, such as Varuna, and is adorned with offerings.
शङ्करैकप्रियप्रेमनयनान्दवर्द्धनः ।
षोडशस्वरितालापगीतगानविचक्षणः ॥ १२८॥
He who increases the joy of the eyes of those who possess the sole, beloved devotion to Shankara, and who is skilled in singing songs composed with the sixteen vowels.
समस्तदुर्गतिसरिन्नाथोत्तारणकोडुपः ।
हरादिब्रह्मवैकुण्ठब्रह्मगीतादिपाठकः ॥ १२९॥
He is the raft for crossing the ocean of all evil destinies, and the one who recites the Brahma-gita and other texts associated with Brahma, Hara, and Vaikuntha.
क्षमापूरितहृत्पद्मसंरक्षितचराचरः ।
ताराङ्कमन्त्रवर्णैकविग्रहोज्ज्वलविग्रहः ॥ १३०॥
He whose lotus-heart is filled with forgiveness, by whom all moving and non-moving beings are protected, whose glorious form is manifested solely by the syllables of the star-marked mantra.
अकारादिक्षकारान्तविद्याभूषितविग्रहः ।
ॐ श्रीविनायको ॐ ह्रीं विघ्नाध्यक्षो गणाधिपः ॥ १३१॥
Whose form is adorned with the knowledge spanning from the letter 'A' to the letter 'Kṣa', Om Śrī Vināyaka, Om Hrīm, the Lord of obstacles, the Leader of the Ganas.
हेरम्बो मोदकाहारो वक्रतुण्डो विधिः स्मृतः ।
वेदान्तगीतो विद्यार्थिसिद्धमन्त्रः षडक्षरः ॥ १३२॥
Heramba, the consumer of Modakas, with a curved trunk, is remembered as the creator (Vidhi). Sung in the Vedanta, the six-syllabled mantra is the mantra of success for students.
गणेशो वरदो देवो द्वादशाक्षरमन्त्रितः ।
सप्तकोटिमहामन्त्रमन्त्रिताशेषविग्रहः ॥ १३३॥
Ganesha is the boon-bestowing deity, invoked by the twelve-syllabled mantra, whose entire form is sanctified by the seven crore great mantras.
गाङ्गेयो गणसेव्यश्च ॐ श्रीद्वैमातुरः शिवः ।
ॐ ह्रीं श्रीं क्लीं ग्लौं गँ देवो महागणपतिः प्रभुः ॥ १३४॥
The son of Ganga, worshipped by the host of deities, Om Shri Dvaimatura (the one with two mothers), the auspicious one. Om Hrim Shrim Klim Glaum Gam, the Lord, the great Ganapati, the Master.
इदं नामसहस्रं तु महागणपतेः स्मृतम् ।
गुह्यं गोप्यतमं सिद्धं सर्वतन्त्रेषु गोपितम् ॥ १३५॥
This thousand names of Mahāgaṇapati is well-known; it is secret, most hidden, perfected, and guarded in all the Tantras.
सर्वमन्त्रमयं दिव्यं सर्वविघ्नविनाशनम् ।
ग्रहतारामयं राशिवर्णपङ्क्तिसमन्वितम् ॥ १३६॥
It is composed of all mantras, divine, the destroyer of all obstacles, consisting of all planets and stars, and endowed with the series of signs and letters.
सर्वाविद्यामयं ब्रह्मसाधनं साधकप्रियम् ।
गणेशस्य च सर्वस्वं रहस्यं त्रिदिवौकसाम् ॥ १३७॥
The means of attaining Brahman, which consists of all knowledge and is dear to the practitioner; it is the entire essence of Ganesha and the secret of the inhabitants of heaven.
यथेष्टफलदं लोके मनोरथप्रपूरणम् ।
अष्टसिद्धिमयं श्रेष्ठं साधकानां जयप्रदम् ॥ १३८॥
Granting the desired fruits in the world, the fulfiller of all wishes, composed of the eight siddhis, supreme, and bestowing victory upon the seekers.
विनार्चनं विना होमं विनान्यासं विना जपम् ।
अणिमाद्यष्टसिद्धीनां साधनं स्मृतिमात्रतः ॥ १३९॥
Without worship, without fire-sacrifice, without ritual placement (nyasa), and without recitation (japa), the attainment of the eightfold powers, such as becoming small (anima), is achieved merely by remembrance.
चतुर्थ्यामर्धरात्रे तु पठेन्मन्त्री चतुष्पथे ।
लिखेद्भूर्जे महादेवि ! पुण्यं नामसहस्रकम् ॥ १४०॥
O Mahadevi, on the fourth day at midnight, the practitioner should recite it at a crossroads, and write the thousand holy names upon birch bark.
धारयेत्तं चतुर्दश्यां मध्याह्ने मूर्ध्नि वा भुजे ।
योषिद्वामकरे चैव पुरुषो दक्षिणे भुजे ॥ १४१॥
On the fourteenth day, one should wear it at midday upon the head or on the arm; a woman on the left arm and a man on the right arm.
स्तम्भयेदपि ब्रह्माणं मोहयेदपि शङ्करम् ।
वशयेदपि त्रैलोक्यं मारयेदखिलान् रिपून् ॥ १४२॥
It can paralyze even Brahma, delude even Shankara, bring the three worlds under control, and destroy all enemies.
उच्चाटयेच्च गीर्वाणं शमयेच्च धनञ्जयम् ।
वन्ध्या पुत्रं लभेच्छीघ्रं निर्धनो धनमाप्नुयात् ॥ १४३॥
One may drive away a deity, appease the fire (Dhananjaya), a barren woman may quickly conceive a son, and a poor man may obtain wealth.
त्रिवारं यः पठेद्रात्रौ गणेशस्य पुरः शिवे ।
नग्नः शक्तियुतो देवि भुक्त्वा भोगान्यथेप्सितान् ॥ १४४॥
O Shiva, O Devi, whoever reads this three times at night before Ganesha, being naked and united with Shakti, having enjoyed desires as one wishes [shall attain the desired fruit].
प्रत्यक्षवरदं पश्येद्गणेशं साधकोत्तमः ।
य इदं पठते नाम्नां सहस्रं भक्तिपूर्वकम् ॥ १४५॥
The excellent practitioner should behold Ganesha, who grants boons directly. Whoever recites this thousand names with devotion.
तस्य वित्तादिविभवोदारायुः सम्पदः सदा ।
रणे राजमये द्यूते पठेन्नामसहस्रकम् ॥ १४६॥
For him, wealth, prosperity, generosity, long life, and fortune are always present; one should recite the thousand names during battle, in royal assemblies, and in gambling.
सर्वत्र जयमाप्नोति गणेशस्य प्रसादतः ॥ १४७॥
By the grace of Ganesha, one attains victory everywhere.
इतीदं पुण्यसर्वस्वं मन्त्रनामसहस्रकम् ।
महागणपतेः पुण्यं गोपनीयं स्वयोनिवत् ॥ १४७॥
Thus, this thousand names of the mantra, which is the essence of all merit, is the sacred [hymn] of Mahāgaṇapati, and should be kept as secret as one’s own source [womb].

श्रीमदुच्छिष्टगणेशसहस्रनामस्तोत्रं सम्पूर्णम् ॥
